Weird this thread was revived. But seeing this response to a question that came up... I had the biggest crush on Mary Stuart Masterson. She wasn't particularly beautiful... but something about her. She was also good in Immediate Family (with James Wood and Glen Close) and Benny and Joon with Johnny Depp. In fact, she made a number of really good movies (Fried Green Tomatoes, Gardens of Stone, Bed of Roses, Bad Girls) in a relatively short period of time. A great scene from Immediate Family... the scene when she is dancing with Glen Glose to Van Morrison's "Into the Mystic".
Trust me, she still is very attractive, but she was never the "beauty" in any of her movies. In Some Kind of Wonderful Stolz was attracted to Leah Thompson. Masterson was always the tomboy, the different one. Which made her more attractive to me.
