For a reason. He has looked lost out there and has been getting smoked on defense. Brooks is the future, but Alston's getting all of the minutes because he's playing better than his competition.

maybe he should have a word with Novak first, because Brooks and Novak are both beter 3pt shooters than Head.

Why are you so obsessed with downing Alston? You bookmarked that page and visit it every day and now want everyone to know it's gone? Everyone agrees he's not a great starter and ideally wouldn't be, so what's the big deal?

Funny thread. It gives me hope. I dislike Fran Blinebury as much as the next guy, but with Sam's track record of premature predictions ("After 2 games, what's a Mike James hater to do"), this might mean that Skip might average .500 the rest of the way... ;).

rafer needs to stop looking for his shot and start focusing on what he does best, which is running the offense. Shoot less, pass more :)

    to rafer :

i'm really impressed with the way he's stepped up offensively.. we all can tell he's been working very hard on that aspect of his game.. there's gonna be games where he just bombs but he's the best we got and he's giving effort

Uh, Rafer doesnt shoot out of a need to find his shot. He shoots because its the best shot available at the time. His primary goal is getting the ball to Yao and T-Mac and finding open cutters. His secondary goal is penetrating the defense to see if he cant find someone for an easy lay-up.(Landry really likes that part) His third goal is shooting the floater(that he has been much more successful on this season) or layup if nobody comes open in the lane. His final goal is shooting the open 3 when the ball winds up in his hands after visiting T-Mac's or Yao's(or both of them) hands.

If Rafer was worried about not shooting more shots than Yao, there would be alot of 24 second violations as he tried to re-set up the offense after not taking the open look or breaking down the D. Or maybe its better if Yao takes last second desperation shots from 20 feet out.

5 turnovers in the Portland game may have you thinking otherwise.

Rafer has held his own, however last night was one of his worst games of the season. His indecision on breaks was killing us. Worst case scenario, put the ball on the rim and let Yao rebound. He's dropping off passes around Yao knee caps.

He's the starter with a short leash.

I still have this tape stored in a box somewhere...the one actually had to BUY shoes from Foot Action to get.
Everyone else now gets it for free

Actually the workers would give it out to anybody whenever they felt. I figured this link was to the same mixtape. Brings back memories when I'd play this before stepping out to the courts...

Didnt make me think any better of Rafer as an NBA player, though

"Streaky" is Rafer's middle name, that along with "39% Shooting". Rafer is what he is, nothing has changed.

A Francis without a bum knee is >>> Alston.

Even Brooks was able to finish what was debatably our best game of the season better than Alston in Portland.
