I guess so much losing gave Rip a change of heart.

The Pistons are messed up. When a "good" team breaks a 5 game losing streak by barely beating Memphis, things are bad.

Have you been watching them? I feel like they have no identity.. Iverson will jack shots whether he's hitting or not. They need to establish a go-to guy, instead of trying to have four different guys be that guy. I almost feel like they're wasting away this season by keeping Iverson, as he's holding Stuckey back from becoming a star. (Also holding him back on my fantasy team  )

Yea, cause that's never worked for them. ;)

Iverson really just doesn't fit with that team, they play too slow for him and he jacks too many shots for them.

What team does Iverson fit with? Denver is the polar opposite of Detroit, and he apparently didn't fit there either.

I don't care how talented a player is, if he doesn't seem to fit anywhere then maybe he isn't as good as everyone thinks he is.

I watch bits and pieces of some of their games. Not enough to really know if this is true: I think there is a barrier between Michael Curry and the players. The difference between this year and last year is the players know for a fact that Dumars has Curry's back, unlike with Flip Saunders. They can't tune him out and do their own thing. But they seem to be going through the motions without a real purpose. I'll see Curry talking to players and they have a blank look on their face and often don't engage him back. Earlier in the season, I saw him and Rip really go at it a couple of times and they looked very tense.

Either Curry was not the right hire or their veteran clique needs to be busted up completely.

Really i think he fit better in Denver than Melo did. I think Denver would be more of a contender if they had moved Melo for Chauncey. Fit is important. It can make guys look like all stars when they really aren't. I'm not ready to right off AI as a bad player because he doesn't fit everywhere, he has taken a team to the finals. I think he just has to be somwhere where he fits. You can't expect much versatility from an old sub 6' shooting guard.

It did work for them- but they aren't near the same team now. All those players are older, and the leader of that team was shipped off. They can't play like that anymore. Even Prince is becoming one of the "go to" guys.

I think Webber, in the only smart thing he's ever said, hit the nail on the coffin. Iverson needs four robots out there with him. The only time they went to the finals, who was on their team? Mutumbo, McKee, Snow, Raja Bell.. it was basically Iverson and four defensive guys who didn't really want to shoot. Pretty sad when you realize that, because I had always thought of AI as one of the best ever.. but it's kind of hard to think that when he can't play within a team.

Ever since his Philly days, I have always felt that Iverson would never win big because his style only fits in a one-man show situation. Francis was somewhat like that too. Tremendous talents but don't fit team ball. But since basketball is a team sport, that means their talent lacks a very important aspect in the game.

he might fit in with new york. if he can play team ball more often than AI ball. altho AI ball is more fun to watch. D'Antoni might be that miracle coach for AI to win.

steve francis was a poor man's stephon marbury, who in turn was a poor man's allen iverson.

Actually, I think Francis was a tad better than Marbury, and without the stinky personality. Both are a poor man's Iverson.

Rip would be a perfect fit in Adelman's system. He's currently the best player moving without the ball. Get it done Morey!

Billups was the glue that held the team together. Hence Denver's success and Detroit'ss struggles. Rip sounds great here, but not sure if he would fit in our offense. He requires a ton of screens during a game. That's not really a good fit with Yao IMO
