Crossing my fingers that. after getting paid, Wood doesn't get complacent again.

    Oh my god. LMAO.
Who wrote this? Wood's agent or his mom?
I have never read such a biased straight up lying article in the ringer before.

So..according to this the only reason Wood was cut by 5 teams was because of some misunderstandings and ill gained reputation.

I don't know how they do things in Greece (I've been to Crete, beautiful, wrong time of year though) but we love our bulls*** THICK here.

    T-h-i-c-k, thick.

EDIT: Maybe his mom did write it. The editor probably took out, "He was and is such a good boy."

Based on that past you can still see how Wood's first taste at actual money might give many a GM around the league cause for concern. Here's hoping that he's finally understood, that you can't be goals-oriented in any profession you dedicate yourself to. Goals change constantly, but principles will keep you in the fight regardless of the prize.

Yeah, I got mixed feelings about this story. Let's hope for the best, and the Rockets organization (whichever direction we end up going towards) can create the right environment and culture for Wood to excel and grow in.

The Ringer definitely does not shy away from a pseudo puff piece and this didn't seem out of bounds in that vein.

I don't think they were trying to make it seem like him being lazy and not showing up on time for a couple of years was just a misunderstanding. But, what he did in the G league after the light supposedly clicked and his limited action two years ago with NOLA and the Bucks indicated he probably has been good enough to get legit minutes in the NBA for a few years but having a bad rep and being under the radar may be part of why he didn't get that shot a little sooner.

One thing in that piece that actually worried me a tad beyond the known risk that he'll get lazy again after getting paid was the stuff about battling COVID. I knew he got it, but didn't know he had pretty bad symptoms. Hopefully there are no long term issues for him with that.

What did they lie about? I'd love to hear the "truth" as you see it.

    What article did you read?

He admitted in the 1st 3 articles it was about him and his thinking he was better than everyone and not working hard.

What lying did the article do?

Him purchasing a Bentley in the G league speaks volumes, I think a parallel is our own D House and I bet he still has some hiccups along the way but we have Westbrook for that.
