    its the whole repeating thing part of the chorus that make it sound similar, its no SOS rip off of "Tainted Love" but I see the resemblance.

    i gave in. went to soundwaves since catus closed a while ago. ripoff or not... the song is jammin. rolled with the windows down today. :D

    One of the first songs I wrote was an accidental ripoff of brimful of asha. The rest sounded like most 60's pop or 50's country songs. When you have a palette of 3 open chords, you are bound to sound like something else.

    This song however...seems to be about everything other than music. I think the singing is conspicuously unoriginal, the Jay-Z placement is an effort at making money, and video is downright silly, but then, I'm not exactly the target audience.

    by the way, something closer to a ripoff to me: Elliott Yamin's new single (Wait for You)... background music and chorus sounds SO similar to S Club 7's Never Had a Dream Come True. The latter even more ridiculously pop than the former..so check the 2 at your own risk.
