    haha! I saw this movie twice on two consecutive days. Originally a tamil film.

    The hero of the movie is Rajinikanth . Dude is a phenomenon here in Tamil Nadu, India and the entire country for that. more like a demi-god. we absolutely love to watch him on screen, no matter how ridiculous the movie gets ;)

    I watched it last night. It was less action packed than what the preview lead to. And I'm not sure why they had to break into song and dance randomly. The crazy fight scenes at the end made it watchable though.

    One thing about Indian movies , doesn't matter whether it is Bollywood,Tollywood, Kollywood. They all have songs in between dramatic or romantic scenes. Rarely do you actually see Hero/Heroine make out , last few years it seems they are actually showing lip to lip kissing. They always bust out to the mountains, rivers , valleys , etc for dancing . ;)

    For a Country that "invented" Kama Sutra , they sure did not show a lot of french kissing between lovers in movies.

    Well, considering the amount of money invested into the movie (huge by indian standards), the director had to ensure that it caters to the majority of the tamil/indian audience. The majority expects song and dance sequences. The director of the movie is renowned for shooting expensive songs in a grand manner. Hence, you have those random sequences. this is all normal for an indian movie of this scale
