For those of you who have no problem with what Rubio is doing, should the NBA do away with the draft and the lottery system that is currently in place?
yes that's like drafting kobe bryant on a team with eddie jones and cedric ceballos at the time. earn your playing time. if you're good, you're going to get minutes. and rubio might become a better player watching the game at first and learning the intracacies of the NBA.
I could discuss this topic for longer than anybody would care to read, but I'll just put it this way. The idea of giving teams incentive to lose as many games as possible is beyond absurd.
I think the biggest mistake for the wolves is that they should have hired a new head coach before the draft. There wouldn't be so mess now. Their season was over long time ago, why didn't make a decision about the head coach earlier?!
Because there are a lot of people who don't mind a player forcing a trade from a team that drafted them to a team of their choosing. To me if you are okay with that, there is no point to a draft and especially the lottery system. Just curious, that's all.
yea, that applies to him too. but i'm sure he's ready to fight for the job. minutes aren't given to rookies, they gotta earn them (word to vspan)
Probably wouldn't be that boring. Tons of people love the MLB. Most of the world loves European soccer.
As long as he comes to Houston, it's his right and I'm all for it. If he goes to NY he'll be a spoiled brat who ignored the rules.
The NBA draft system isn't perfect and its purpose isn't trying to promote fairness or integrety. More importantly, in one way or another, both teams and players could find ways exploit the system if they want to. So, I don't see how you can blamn someone for making choices to benefit himself. Just like someone said earlier, each player has the right to choose their own destiny like one could choose to work at Google instead of GM...
Not as long as teams are allowed to receive compensation in trades. This has gone on as long as the draft has been in place for nearly all sports. What is the problem?
