Yao was not all that effective against them the year before. Those two shooting bigs, Okur and Boozer, were tough for him to handle.
If Yao were drafted this year he would be learning to shoot 3's. He would have been unstoppable. The guy had a extraordinary jumper.
Actually I think he could shoot 3's, it was just not really condoned by JVG. If D'antoni was the coach that would have been a different story.
Good, because Rubio would've brought up CP3's flopping ways and we would've a fest of guys laying on the floor constantly. The refs would have a field day and the series would get really ugly. Injuries is the x factor that has as much impact as anything. The rockets have had someone of the worst luck. Morey constructed entire teams that if not for injury would have been something. Ive always felt like certain teams were incredibly lucky and have titlea because of it.. Had to chuckle when mbah moute went with injury. I thought for sure pj tucker was done on that one trip. You break an arm I dont care how bad ass you are its over. I wanted to see rubio in his top form because i personally love the guy and this was to be his coming out party. Rockets would have won in my mind still but love me some rubio..now he wont get to until game 3 or 4 at earliest and with their crowd might be good for a willis reed moment and one extra win in utah. The biggest problem was getting rebounds in the closing minutes and seconds of Game 7. Unfortunately got outrebounded because his boxing out was not the best.
Wah f’ing wah. We have suffered plenty with injuries. Tracy McGlassy and Yao Ding’d up. Hell in 2015 a healthy just coming into his own DMO and Pat Beverly may have helped us give Golden State a run. So no sympathy from me. Maybe the Jazz could get Wayne Hicken on the clock to help them out.
