This is simply untrue. The only people with a bias are the ones that openly admit they never watch Rubio play any games and yet claim he will be a superstar in the NBA. Those in the thread that admit to actually watching him play are clearly stating that he is not a good player. The biased fans are simply choosing to ignore facts. lee said the exact same thing as me and he has actually seen Rubio play. The rest of you are not being serious here at all. The comments about Rubio here are generally laughable. Go to any European basketball forum and make these claims about how good Rubio is and they will laugh you out of the forum.
Llull is a shooting guard. He plays shooting guard in his team and his own coach and GM stated they don't want him playing at point guard because he cannot handle that position. Anchel denies this and insists he is a point guard. That is definitely a homer vibe. Real Madrid's point guards are Sergio Rodriguez and Pablo Prigioni, not Sergio Llull. This is a fact.
Dang it Clutch, I was on to that already. The guy is certifiable, has been kicked off of this forum and others a few times, has multiple accounts/personalities, tries to start rumors about teams being interested in a player and then has his 2nd personality try to agree with it to make it look like an actual happenstance, then see if it gets picked up by some of the lazier basketball bloggers around the world. A Kar, if you are allowed to stay, please try to control yourself, and don't make innane comments about how basketball played overseas is anywhere comparible to the NBA, it isn't....Europe is the minor leagues, heck NBDL teams could compete against them.... And as a revised VSpan fan, say it with me.....VSpan sucks ! DD
That's pretty funny, coming from the guy who claimed: Is that the same Navarro that shot 36% from downtown and 40% from the field in the NBA? I guess it helps when you go play in the soft Euroleague and get to shoot from a closer three point line. If he's one of the best shooters on the planet, I guess that makes Aaron Brooks one of the best shooters in the universe!!!! Oh My Mistake.. Navarro is just as bad at shooting the three in the Euroleague than he was in the NBA. Go away, idiot.
Navarro is a better shooter than any player on the Rockets by far. He would be the most popular player this team has had in years if he was on it.
Well crap, now I feel like a complete idiot. I said last week: i was clearly played for the fool. Navarro a better shooter than anyone on the Rockets? some euroleague team beating the lakers in the preseason having anything to do with anything? some crappy euro team having better finishers and athletes than 95% of the NBA. this guy being the 50th reincarnation of previously horrid posters. yep...i got taken for a fool. And I can't even go back at this point to edit that post! well, in my defense, i did say:
Based on what? You provided so much statistical information in your OP, why don't you go ahead and back this statement up. Why don't you look up Kevin Martin's career true shooting %'s and compare them to Navarro's.
I'm not sure true shooting % is a good measurement when you're looking at who the better shooter is. That said, there's no need to respond -- this guy's a troll who has no idea what he's talking about. Just let him go through life thinking Euroleague is up to par with the NBA.
JR Giddens who has played in both the D-League and the Euroleague stated in an interview that the D-League is below the Euroleague. Players don't get paid millions of dollars in "minor leagues", or perhaps you don't know the definition of a minor league. I guess you think every "minor league" is paying players millions of dollars, which shows an extreme amount of ignorance about sports in general on your part, not to mention a total lack of economics knowledge. You really need to broaden your horizons and your world view paradigm because you appear to be a definite xenophobe with some of the comments you make here. You are not that young and you are not uneducated (or so you claim), which is the excuse for some others. So it comes across that you appear to have a character flaw to be making such xenophobic comments here in a public forum. http://www.realgm.com/src_feature_article/246/20101207/europe_interview_jr_giddens_of_asseco_prokom/ RealGM: Could you, as a former D-league player, evaluate playing in Europe in comparison? Giddens: In Europe, I feel like teams are more organized and more stable. You have older guys who have been over here for years, some of them have been in the NBA and then they came back to the Euroleague. I feel like Euroleague is a higher level than the D-League, but both leagues are very good. Euroleague is very competitive. I’m really impressed with the Euroleague so far. JR Giddens is a former NBA player. A guy that has played 2 seasons in the NBA said, and I repeat, "Euroleague is very competitive. I’m really impressed with the Euroleague so far."
Dont want to change the subject or anything, but hey A Kar where can i watch live euro games online for free? (considering im currently out of the States)
Very competitive does not mean...comparible to the NBA....the Euroleague is like the 1st division in soccer. It just doesn't compare to the premiership which is the NBA in this comparison. The teams in Europe are vastly inferior, as to why they are paid millions of dollars......maybe their owners are afraid the only good players they have would leave if they weren't paid. I mean look at VSpan, he struggled over in Houston, then tucked his tail and quit, went running home to his mommy..... Then played well over there, didn't get any better, but he could succeed over there because of the crap competition....in the NBA, he would have been forced to imrpove. He took the cowards way out.....maybe that is what JR Giddens is doing too.. DD
I'm surprised I didn't get it earlier, or that he hasn't come back before....the collapse of the greek economy must have led to a shortage in multiple personalities. The_Nine_Gates, B-Ball Scientist, Spanwagon, poprocks, BEXCELENT....So many names, so many memories. Barnyard Ball will never die.
Awesome, thanks for posting. Needless to say.. I want this guy on my team. Badly. Watching the video I kept thinking of a Rubio & Anthony Randolph combination...
If the Euroleague was so easy, then JR Giddens would have tore the league up. That is how NBA only fans (fans that have never even seen Euroleague like you) think, that any NBA player just tears up the Euroleague. Here is your failed, flawed, and incorrect logic....JR Giddens was not good enough for the NBA (even though he played 2 years in the NBA) so he goes to the "easier" Euroleague. The problem with your failed, flawed, and incorrect logic is that JR Giddens got cut from his Euroleague team after averaging 6.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in the United League and 9 points and 5.2 rebounds in the Euroleague, for a team that was eliminated at the first stage of the season with a terrible record. If the Euroleague was so much easier, as you claim that it is why Giddens went there, to have it "easier", then Giddens would have not been cut for lack of production before even the half way point of the season. But of course, you will probably just assume some kind of totally made up and imagined nonsense inside of your own mind that he probably "dominated" that "easy" league. Since you know nothing about the Euroleague and clearly know nothing about the game of basketball beyond Houston Rockets broadcasts. Your football (soccer) analogy is also wrong, which shows that you don't know anything about that sport either. Giddens had it so "easy" in Euroleague that he got cut for poor play before even the half point of the season. AK
Does anyone else get a headache every time they see the OP's replies that end up being half a page essays? The kid is young and has tons of potential. He must be doing something right if he's gotten this much attention from the NBA.
