I would love have Ricky coming of our bench, he a good scorer and can give us points when we really need them.

He'd probably be a good addition for depth. But I wouldn't get all excited about it, esp if it was the full MLE for a number of years.

If he is a bench player than I say yes, but I still don't like him

SAY NO TO RICKY DAVIS UNDER ANY AND ALL CIRCUMSTANCES

Seriously, even if he was willing to play for us for free, he would NOT be worth it. And that is the not a hyperbole or any kind of exaggeration. It is fact.

No to Ricky. He's that kind of guy who doesn't give a f... about anything.

If Mike James was worth the MLE, Ricky Davis is worth it for sure. Size, athleticism and reliable 3rd scorer, all the qualities the Rox need. Morey should really look at him if he's available.

Only concern expressed by Doc Rivers is he is high maintenance, whatever that means.

I don't get all the Ricky hating. Sure, he has been a knucklehead in the past but we had the king of all active knuckleheads (Bonzi) on this squad for the past two seasons. At least Davis isn't injury prone and stays in shape.

You've hit the nail on the head twice. How many times do we have to do the 'take a chance on this guy who still hasn't proven himself, doesn't mesh w/ any team he's played with, has been let go time and time again by every team he's been on, oh but he's athletic and puts up decent stats?' WHEN THE HELL WILL YOU GUYS LEARN? We're trying to win a championship here. Can you imagine any other contender right now picking this guy up if they had the room? I can't.

    Ricky Davis:
    - no shot is a bad shot;
    - always check if he already gets his share of FGAs in every game.

I dont mind him coming off bench for 10-15 minutes though if he's a good citizen and signs for minimum.

Battier plays a lot of defence and doesn't take ill-advised, lazy jump shots.

    We are still going nowhere.

Once again we have people commenting on a player that only see him play against the rox. If ur going to tell me Ricky Davis isn't a upgrade over anyone not named mcgrady and yao, u don't watch hoops. In fact if u don't think davis would be our 3rd or 4th best player, then again u don't watch hoops. If u want to talk about the immaturity he had yrs ago, I can agree with u, but he is exactly what the rox have been missing since mitchell wiggins and mario elie. He and artest are the perfect ingredients to the mix. So go ahead and keep dreaming of head actually doing something in the playoffs. Or just keep hoping mr. glue starts to assert himself offensively. If a guys has never been a scorer, when will he ever become one? Davis is the multi-tool player that could have put the rox over the top. He shoots 40% 3pt,43 fg and almost 80 ft while being able to play the 2/3. Some people crack me up.

Ricky is definitely too crazy. We need good, hard-working, tough and smart players.

Does he have the talent to fit this team as a 6th man? Yes
Should we get this knucklehead? I don't think so.

A better question is, what makes battier better than davis? I can tell u that davis is a better shooter, scorer, and passer. What about glue guy?

He would drive us all crazy. He would be a guy (much like Rafer) capable of shooting us in and out of games. When he's hot you'll think he's a great addition and one of the best 6th men in the league. When he's off you'll be crying to take him out and trade him.

I'm up in the air on the idea. From a pure talent perspective it makes sense. He's a VERY difficult one-on-one cover. He can post up, blow by a defender, shoot from anywhere and get to the line fairly easily it's just his horrific shot selection, baggage and "loser" stigma that concerns me.

Ok fellas let's be real! What other options do you you have currently on this team? None! Anyone even remotely close to Ricky Davis would be a upgrade from the chumps we have on our bench at the sg/sf positions!

    It depends on his mindset....

With this team, I think some head cases would fall in line, because Yao and Tmac and Battier and Scola all work real hard, it would be impossible to come in and slack.

So a player like Ricky might revive his career in H-town...and he is certainly a viable option if his head is right.
