And I do think Perry may be the anti-christ...but I wasn't sure that was commonly accepted yet. And I try to avoid the religious threads.

In hindsight, it's also funny how both Glynch and Batman are thinking Perry is the nominee (admittedly, I was starting to come around to that view as well) and then out of nowhere basso turns the thread total birther/schooler (WHERE ARE OBAMA'S TRANSCRIPTS?) and manages a racial reference for good measure. Hilarity ensues.

 

I loved that thread. First it's about Perry, then it's random photos of people named perry for a whole page, then back to Perry a random interlude of Obama bashing because he's an egomaniac who thinks he's jesus (really?), then even people who believed perry would get crushed start to think he's the favorite, then it sort of peters out.

 

Yes, that was about my worst prediction ever. On the other hand, not here but elsewhere, I called the rise of Gingrich literally one day before his first small rise in the polls. My friend said, no way, why would you say that? I said, everybody's gonna get a turn -- they're just too unhappy about Mitt. I said, even Santorum might get a turn.

Back on topic, never underestimate the dumb as **** Texas electorate. If it's not Perry again, it'll just as likely be someone even worse.

 

Yep, good stuff. Pretty much a classic D&D thread. (I thought I deserved more rep than I got for the Commodore Perry post.)

 

It would help if we had an organized and competent democratic party in Texas that isn't run by dinosaurs.

 

Not my intent....ugh! Sorry about that. I do like honest discussion....and thought the article quoted here was a bit of a fluff piece beefed up by stats and comparisons which didn't support the point being made. If they're going to present a poll as hard data -- they shouldn't misrepresent that data in the narrative -- even if it boosts their pageviews. I think too many pieces distort the data to hammer their point.

If it seems I 'favor' republican viewpoints it's likely because I'm too late to correct the other ones.

and on Perry....I don't understand why he was popular in the first place...but given he was...i do think...at least on a state level

He is giving you an honest evaluation. You can claim you aren't mad but you called him obtuse and said looking deeper into the numbers is a dumbass argument.

If you really want to compare them (which like bnb said is meaningless and silly) no one has mentioned the disapproval which shows Perry way down at 40% from his previous 29% pre-campaign. Looks bad but not compared to Obama's 50%.
