I really enjoyed the season 5 premiere, thought it was hilarious pretty much from start to finish....
Still a great show, but has lost some of that shine. I agree that season 3, is probably where it peaked.
Watched this one last night. @Nook Not even close. Or it's Family Guy on crack and meth with a nihilistic bent. For the sci-fi animated sitcom Rick and Morty, Harmon and co-creator Justin Roiland listed a number of influences on the show's style, including The Simpsons, Ren & Stimpy, South Park, Saturday Night Live, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Doctor Who, and the cult sci-fi film Zardoz.[32]
Thought Season 5 started off great, really enjoyed the first two episodes. Then it felt like the worse set of episodes of the series before ending with a fantastic season finale that actually told Rick's back story. It didn't disappoint at all.... Some what lengthy (~20 min) but great recap by Emergency Awesome Spoiler Separating the universes where you are the smartest being from all the other universes was a crazy back story.
Im not smart enough to see why some people think episodes are poor. This stuff is so out there, I think it's all good mainly because I dont really get what's going on half the time. I spend just as much time on YouTube trying to make sense of what I just saw. I see a lot of discourse saying this season was poor except for the evil Morty stuff by the end. I thought it was a good season.
