If you hate Rick Adelman so much, why don't you go protest at Toyota Center? You can start a "fire Rick" rally. you know how many people will show up? like nobody. Your crap is r****ded, is Jerry Sloan a crappy coach too since hasn't won any championships? JVG is gone cause he and his squad couldn't get the job done. How many other coaches in the NBA now have over 900 freaking wins like Rick? Rick ain't going anywhere so you can yell all you want.
Rick's former team's fans don't boo the Ruler <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/RVPrN6hH5sY?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/RVPrN6hH5sY?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
True, denniscd works for the Rockets, but his posts here are a form of trolling. To rile up the fans and make them satisfied with a mediocre team fighting for the 8th spot. I agree the problem isn't the coach, it's the personnel, but I wouldn't make the mistake of seeing him as anything more than a hired cheerleader.
That's not true. Rick Adelman 0.607 regular season career average 2 x NBA Finals Jeff Van Gundy 0.575 regular season career average 1 x NBA Finals* *-50 game lockout shortened season http://www.basketball-reference.com/coaches/adelmri01c.html http://www.basketball-reference.com/coaches/vanguje99c.html
Great development job, JVG. He signed a non-guaranteed contract for the minimum. Head is so fundamentally sound as a 5 year veteran, that he doesn't get used at all. He can't get playtime over horrible Beno Udrih or an undeveloped Pooh Jeter. He hasn't developed much in 5 years. He just rides pine for 0 minutes.
Are you serious? The finals run team that barely posted a .500 record had Ewing Houston Sprewell Larry Johnson Kurt Thomas Charlie Ward Camby JVG has never overachieved. When his stars go down, his teams go to crap. When Tmac was out, we were one loss away from Roy. When Tmac goes out for Adelman, we go to the second round. When we lose Tmac and Yao, Adelman has a winning season. Adelman has had only 2 losing seasons in his entire career and they were with a disfunctional Golden State Team that had Sprewell as their best player. Once he left, the team only one 19 games the following year.
stop the arguing about who is better...jvg was fine, rick is great. we have had great coaches here in houston and now finally we have a great gm to be paired with a great coach. you guys are dead wrong. i dont work for the rockets. but like i have said before, i know a great coach when i see one and rick is one of the best of all time. that is not to diminish how good i think jvg was, but just saying we better appreciate the ruler why he is here.
500 by the new year...ill take that beat toronto tonight...be 500...gotta love the position we are in going into the new year.
Ewing played 38 out of their 51 games during the regular season and was their leading scorer. He also played in their first two rounds and the first game of the third round against the Pacers. He average almost 9 rebounds a game during that series. We did not overachieve in 2005 and 2007. We lost in the first round of the playoffs in both season with a healthy Yao and Tmac during the playoffs. We were also up two games against the Mavs and Avery Johnson made the adjustments to kick our ass. How is that overachieving? In 2007, we were favored against Utah, and Sloan made JVG his b****. The Jazz figured out JVG defensive scheme and shot 48 and 51 percent the last two games.
Meh, that is ok, but we are not contenders have a seriously unbalanced roster, and a lot of work left to do to get it right by the team. DD
With all the injuries 500 will be ok this teams got a ways to go but getting to 500 will be a good start.
