he does it year after year...and because of his consistent greatness, people over look him time and again. who has done a better job with his team this year? no one? i dont think another coach could have this team playing such good fun consistent basketball. thanks ruler for all that you continue to do to make our team a champion!!!
Getting 'Coach of the Year' is a death sentence, like the madden curse, do not want. This is probably one of the reasons Jerry Sloan is the longest tenured coach in the league; he hasn't one it yet even though he probably deserved it at one point.
He's a good coach. You don't win as many games as he has at such a high rate by being a bad coach, and outside of maybe Clyde, he's never had a truly dominant player to bail him out. The start of the season has been rough, but things will even out.
I agree.. he is a excellent coach. he manages players well and has 'long term payoff' approach. I do think our coaching staff are in the top 5 of the NBA teams. unfortunately though, the results haven't completely shown - but it's because of talent level and injuries. they have, however, made use of what theyve had. I cite the 22 win steak, Yao Ming 2009 indjury, and 09/10 season as examples. not to mention also, they've done well in utilizing 2nd hand and rejected talent in; Brooks, Landry, C. Bud, Jordan Hill, Wafer, Wells, and Artest to name a few. it's hard to appreciate what you have sometimes... and im sure people will start to fully appreciate how good job this coaching staff has done in guided our rockets when they leave.
hi, I'm denniscd. you might remember me from creating such threads over the past year like: -i feel for rick -thankfully we have rick -thanks rick -rick adelman i'd also like to point out that i made sure to give adelman a special shout out in the opening post of my other threads, such as: -first okc, now lakers -im thankful
Haters gotta hate. I'm with you denniscd. Good job by Adelman this year in handling a very fluid situation
Ask this again at the end of the season, but I would have to admit Adelman's coaching at the beginning of the season was pretty bad. Right now, I would have to say no even though the team is much improved on the defensive end. I have a problems giving this award to a coach who doesn't commit his team to defense. I am very critical of Adelman, but he is a good coach and should be in the hall of fame one of these days. And who knows how many championships he would have won if he would have been lucky enough to coach Michael and Kobe. If Philidelphia ends up making the playoffs then I think Doug Collins could have a say so in it, just because of the turnaround a coaching change has made to that team. But then again, its just too early to know who has done the best job until the results are in for the ENTIRE season.
