Regardless of the validity of his complaint this is why the referee situation will never be fixed.

Well, JVG did basically allege the league had deliberately targeted Yao Ming in Games 3 and 4. Carlisle just called out the refs for allowing Dwight to be too physical in this series. Not quite as severe.

The problem I have with Carlisle's b-tching is that I don't really see where Dwight is getting away with anything. All he can point to is one play. In Game 1, Dwight was saddled with foul trouble and a lot of those were ticky tack ones. He only played 17 minutes. Was he unhappy with the officiating in that game?

Then in Game 2, Dwight was able to play 33 minutes, but I don't see where he got away with anything that night either? Hell, he even got a flagrant called on him which was BS as he just fouled Dirk hard on the arms. As opposed to Amar'e practically strangling Dwight's neck a few minutes earlier and only getting a regular foul called.

And aside from the Devin Harris non-foul call, what was so bad about last night? Dwight dominated on the boards, but he wasn't pushing guys out of the way. He's just bigger, stronger, and quicker to the ball than everyone else.

This kind of (mild) criticism warrants a $25,000 fine? That's ridiculous.

No league protects their referees like the NBA does.

Oh well. **** Carlisle, I'm glad to see that overrated twat get swept or almost swept.

Really? What was he supposed to say? Halal? I say Vegan Kosher all the time in that instance. If that's what he was fined for then it's amazingly stupid.

His criticism was insane. The refs didn't put you down 3 games. Hell, I'd have more respect if he called out Rondo here.

kosher is a widely used term to simply indicate appropriateness of something. i doubt he was intending to insult his owner, his commissioner, the color commentator, etc.

I've been using it all my life as an interchangeable with "sanitary" or "hygenic". But apparently it offends some people in certain contexts. I do suspect Carlisle insinuates that the league is "Jew" run/controlled. I've never heard of it the way he put it neither. So maybe......

This. Carlisle was suggesting the officiating was inappropriately biased toward the Rockets.

They were getting these calls during the regular season so that's why they have been whining. They should know better, especially Carly and I think they are looking for anything right now. They know Dirk's been really exposed and should not be out there but who will they have to score?
