I saw him- Geral Fitch- in one game in Miami, the guy is a good shooter. Hope he gets a look and see if he can knock down those open 3's
He is a streaky shooter, I'd take a pass-first PG for now because they'd have more impact. +When Rafer goes on the bench our offense isn't run well at all.
Definitly too low on the depth chart for the rockets to play him. He's more a 2 guard than the point as KTVOSS said and that puts him behind Wesley & Head. I doubt he sees much time unless one is hurt or in fould trouble.
This guy must be good because so many teams have wanted him over the years.... Well, he did play all right against the Rockets as a Celtic.
You could look at it as he's good enough to earn spots on teams every year, got to be something there
Some journeyman need to find a good spot and work in a good system. I'll never forget Mario Elie, Charles Jones, and the rest of the people no one else wanted that helped the Rockets win championships while other people made fun of them. In no way am i comparing Brunson with any of those guys but hey, you never know until your given a good chance to succeed. The guy definitly has PG skills, and plays defense. It's not like we lost much to get him. I too was upset about the Barry waiving but at the same time we really do have way too many SG and he was not going to be in a game anytime soon and we all knew it.

Brunson (6-4, Temple) has averaged 3.3 points, 1.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 314 career games (51 starts) with the Portland Trail Blazers, New York Knicks, Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls, Toronto Raptors, Los Angeles Clippers and Seattle. In 2005-06, Brunson has averaged 2.5 points, 0.5 rebounds and 0.5 assists in four games with Seattle. He registered eight minutes of playing time at San Antonio (2/21), which was his first action since opening night. Brunson missed 48 games (11/4/05-1/13/06, 1/25/06-2/15/06) due to plantar fasciitis in his left foot. He scored a season-high six points at Orlando (2/24). Brunson was waived by the Sonics on Feb. 28, 2006. Playing in his ninth NBA season, Brunson was not drafted by an NBA franchise. His first regular season stop in the NBA came with Portland in 1997-98, appearing in 38 games (10 starts) for the Trail Blazers. He then spent the next two seasons with the Knicks (1998-99; 1999-2000) before joining the Celtics for the start of 2000-01 season. Brunson returned to New York after being claimed off waivers by the Knicks on Nov. 27, 2000. He then appeared in a 59 games (two starts) with the Trail Blazers in 2001-02. Over the next two seasons (2002-03; 2003-04), Brunson split time between the Bulls and Raptors. His best season came in 2004-05 with the Clippers, averaging career bests in points (5.5), assists (5.1), rebounds (2.3) and steals (1.03), while playing in a career-high 80 games (39 starts). As a collegian, Brunson averaged 12.0 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.8 assists over four seasons at Temple. He also participated in the Continental Basketball Association over three seasons with the Quad City Thunder (1996-97) and Connecticut Pride (1997-98, 1998-99).
Like others have said, Brunson played pretty well last season with the Clippers. He got injured at the start of the season and Seattle liked how others took over in his absence, so he lost his spot in the rotation (sound familier? lol). I think for the minutes he'll play, he'll work pretty well.
Yeah... our 'pass first can't shoot starting PG' is great at setting up our Rockets, can't hurt to add another.
I wanted JL3, but I don't think you can sign him again unless it is for the rest of the year. He already had his two 10 day contracts. DD
If the Rockets keep surrounding Ming and TMac with crap the team is going to be, well, crap. Are there any over the hill, burned out old Knicks left out there? Are any of you losing interest? I am starting to lose more confidence in JVG and CD.
The slowest team in league just got slower. JVG keeps saying were are slow, old, and can't shoot. Brunson is all of that and much more.
JVG and CD are driving me nuts, why not try some young talent? There are guys on the Austin Toros better than Brunson, Derrick Zimmerman the starting PG is better, and Ezra Williams is FAR better. Hell, Ezra would be the best shooter on the Rockets today...I don't understand why he is not in the NBA. DD
