Hmm.... so Adelman waits until there is a "mutual option" and then retires... have to cash them checks!

Part of the problem with the rotations was there were so many injuries that it was hard to keep a consistent lineup. As far as Rubio and Brewer they seemed to put things together at the end of the season. Happy Trails Adelman and look forward to seeing you in the Hall of Fame.
Just to follow up here's what Erik Spoelstra thinks of Rick Adelman. http://msn.foxsports.com/north/story/timberwolves-coach-rick-adelman-announces-retirement-042114 [rquoter]Most NBA coaches admit they've taken at least some part of Adelman's offensive playbook and deployed it in their strategies. Heat coach Erik Spoelstra calls him a major influence. Clippers coach Doc Rivers even used a play called "Adelman" when he coached in Boston.[/rquoter]
I am going to miss him a lot. I wish him the best. He lead us into the 2nd round of the playoffs against Portland. I'll never forget that.
I never doubted that Adelman was a good coach and an influential one, I just do not think that as a head coach he is worthy of the Hall of Fame. He certainly furthered the development of NBA offenses, just like Pete Carril (who played a large part in Adelman's offensive development) and Tex Winters. I just do not think that Adelman was/is as good a head coach as Popovich, Riley,Jones, Thibodeau, Spoelstra, Tomjanovich, Brown, Carlisle, Daly, Fitch and many others. If you put Adelman in the Hall of Fame, you sure as hell better put Tomjanovich in.... and does George Karl get it? How about Del Harris? Albert Cervi? Flip Saunders? Billy Cunningham? Heinsohn? KC Jones? Doug Moe?
If the Rockets don't win the next game, I expect the Rockets to fire McFail and hire someone like Jeff Van Gundy who have a better understanding what the hell is happening in the game. He literally don't do shyt in that game as far as strategy wise. Why the f would you let Harden continue shooting jump shots when you're only down by 1pt. What kind of fnking coach would not see that your leader is struggling and have not been attacking the basket. Hell, EVEN if he has been shooting great, it would be much wiser to attack the basket and try to draw foul knowing you're only down by 1 pt rather than taking jump shot where the probability of a jump shot going in is not always guaranteed. He did NOTHING to intimidate LaMarcus Adridge also. Basically, he did squat in this game.
Appreciation for Adelman from fan forums of former teams. Sactown Royalty http://www.sactownroyalty.com/2014/4/21/5636276/farewell-rick-adelman Blazers' Edge http://www.blazersedge.com/2014/4/21/5636386/rick-adelman-appreciation-thread
And that is your opinion. All of those guys who have commented all have some very big praise for Adelman. Tommy Heinsohn and Billy Cunningham are already in the HOF. George Karl when he retires deserves too as one of the winningest coaches. Rudy T and KC Jones both deserve it as players and coaches. Del Harris' and Doug Moe's wins and accomplishments are far fewer than Adelman. Flip Saunders accomplishments are far behind Adelman's but he could still return to coaching. I don't know who Albert Cervi and there is no Wikipedia entry for that name.
You have been backpedaling since your absurd statement about "Adelman in the HoF is absurd" when people are bringing up more and more evidence. Admit it. You just don't like the dude for some reason. It's not as "absurd" as you claimed.
Thats true, but by the time Rubio and Brewer started playing well the Timberwolves were out of the playoff race.
Yes it was too little too late. One theory I've heard discussed on KFAN was that there might a psychological issue with Rubio and that once he no longer had the pressure of making the playoffs he played better. I have my doubts about that but interesting theory.
Honestly wouldn't surprise me. I've always believed pressure and psychological issues have play a much bigger role than people think. Might also explain why Rubio is so much better in the 1st quarter than in the 4th. There was some ridiculous streak, like Rubio went 7 games or so without a 4th quarter basket? I don't exactly remember.
