I dont buy that reason at all, sorry Coach. I too am frustrated that Terrence isnt gettin enough PT. Lee's been here and there performance-wise, CBud has had stretches where he's worse, oh and theres his lack of defense. And then when they ARE struggling he's quick to put Shane or Kmart back in.

I feel Rick may also be overplaying Lowry, esp in trash times when he can just give TWil a go.

Aldeman says "unless someone gets injured or we are really struggling".

So he doesnt think we are struggling, he thinks things are going too good to alter anything.

This explains a lot. Any coach that thinks we are not struggling, let alone "really" struggling, is mentally challenged. Anyone coach that sits T-Will down for C.Bud is mentally challanged.

It sure sounds like it. I'm not 100% sure because he mumbles through it and it sounds like "I don't...we traded for him. There wasn't a spot for him anyway.."

So it sounds like 'I don't know why we traded for him. There wasn't a spot for him anyway.'

Let's face it. Terrence Williams isn't getting any playing time until this backcourt is cleared out. Adelman is too tied up on Budinger and Battier to give Williams a fair shot.

Hell, even when Kevin Martin was hurt, Terrence Williams couldn't even get on the court.

huh? Completely? Let's not go that far.

They're both athletic wing players. We're not talking about comparing some finesse 3pt shooting 4 and a waterbug pint sized PG. Now as far as what things Twill is better at and his wider skillsets, that's why I said JT is a lesser version of him.

Time to get a new coach, that loyalty-crap is really hurting our rotation.

let me translate what the ruler said in the video..."he is not good enough to be in the rotation. our other perimeter guys are better than him. he could not play for nj this year and he cant play for us."

This year is over.....he should be playing to find out if he can develop for next year.

I want to see Williams play, because I think he has talent and very well may be a key cog in our future, but Adelman's job is to win games. Considering how long it takes to know and run his system, what he said makes sense. Williams will get his chance. A better question would be, "Will Terrence Williams be mature enough to earn his minutes on the practice floor, await events at the deadline, and have the patience to participate in the future of the Rockets?"

4.5 games out of the playoffs with three months of basketball to get over the hump.

I dont disagree with Adelman's assement here, I just disagree with his attitude and unwillingness to compromise about it. He was traded to the team with no roster spot available, and (this was not said, but it should be noted) like Tracy McGrady when he came back from injury last year, his style of play did not fit in with Adelman's offense that he is running.

Terrence facilitates the offense like a point guard or point forward similar to a player like Lebron or McGrady. Not saying he is as good, but his style of play mirrors that of a player like those two.

While Adelman's offense is setup for the wing players to be much less involved in facilitating the offense, than they are with coming off picks and screens for jump shots and layups. He just does not fit in with what Adelman is trying to do on offense.

Notice here that I used the word offense quite a bit and didnt say anything about defense which scares me. Terrence's playing time has absolutely nothing to do with defense and shows where Adelman's priorities really are.

The 8th seed is worthless, and we are 5.5 games out if you consider we lost the tie breaker to Portland.

I just don't think this team has it in them.....and would rather have a high draft pick.....

Like you said before, RA does not look like he'll be around next year so why do this? Adelman was brought in to win games, period and not oversee a rebuilding project. What you are asking is not conductive to winning games. But let's say that he does what you are asking here and start playing guys like Williams. THEN folks here would be ripping him as a sorry excuse for a coach (in fact that's already happening) because he cannot win with guys who were draft busts or D-League refugees. I have seen this type of song and dance before with JVG: It's always the coach's fault around here and never the player's. These guys look good in garbage time so WTF is wrong with RA for not playing them when the game is on the line, right? The mere fact that you have to see if these guys can develop should tell you that these aren't championship level players - at least not now. At the end of the day, no matter what combination of players gets put out there, this is still a mediocre to below average team that will struggle against bigger and better teams in the half court.

Or let me put it another way: Just how many YEARS are you willing to "invest" into waiting to see if guys like Williams, Budinger, Brooks, Hill, Lee, Jeffries can elevate their game? Two? Three? What happens in the meantime? Anyone who signs on to be the head coach in this situation will have to know that in all likelihood, he won't be around to see the fruits of his efforts realized so just who would want to do this? I'm not saying this scenario can't work out for the best but from where I sit nearly every choice available to them looks to be a crapshoot.

Yes, this may be a dig at Morey. Yes, Williams may be trade fodder. But the fact remains that the coach has to maintain his intgrity with the players. If a new guy comes in then he waits his chance like the other did in their turn. It's a long season. Alot can happen.

I agree. Why would any super-star want to play for Adelman. How could a Chris Paul flourish in a system that does not allow him to dominate the ball. I think having Adelman as a coach is a long term problem if we are going to get a super-star. I don't recall him ever coaching a team with a ball dominant player or true superstar. Although I enjoy watching a fluid offense, we need to have a super-star especially at the end of the game.

I think you go to Rick as the GM and offer him a 2 year extension, but make it clear that part of that is to play the young guys NOW, so that we can get the direction solidified for next year.

Make sure he understands in no uncertain terms that we are going young for at least the rest of the year.

It was part of the reason I did my "Comfort foods" thread, where you take those players away from a coach and give him no choice but to play the youngsters.

Trade Battier, Trade Hayes, Trade Jeffries, Trade Miller....force his hand if he won't voluntarily cooperate.....none of those players have a window beyond this year here for the most part anyway.
