Adelman will not change anything. He is content with the what Rocket has now. The management did not expect this team can come this far, and Adelman did not either. Everyone can tell the difference between his court reactions in round 1 and round 2. No more yelling and just sits there with a puzzled face.

I just beg Adelman, please give Yao a few minutes break to Yao and please do not overuse him. When Yao is tired, he is very liable to injury, which happened exactly today.

Agreed, I couldn't believe it. A huge mental lapse.

I am not sure this group would break 70 pts for the game.

There's nothing Adelman can do? What type of adjustment would you guys suggest? We just played like **** and weren't able to make shots.

The only defensive solution that can prevent Yao from getting completely broken down on the pick and roll is a ZONE DEFENSE. The weakness in a zone defense is giving up offensive rebounds, but it's not like our man-to-man defense is preventing that already. If Yao is in the game, the Lakers will almost always utilize the pick and roll using the man Yao is guarding. This completely destroys our defense each and every time, because Yao is too slow to adequately defend it. In a 2-3 zone or a 2-1-2 zone, you've got two guards at the top of the key who can switch and keep up with the play. That's the only solution, in my view. You will probably give up more three-point shots in a zone defense, but they won't be open looks like what the Lakers are getting after moving the ball around versus our man-to-man defense after the pick and roll is executed. A match-up zone is another possibility, where you start out in zone then man up about half-way through the possession. This would not give the Lakers time to run the pick and roll and then rotate the ball around, because they wouldn't set up in a pick and roll against a zone (or at least they wouldn't use the center in the pick and roll.

I did see Adelman sort of put a stop to fronting Yao. He had Battier setting screens down low to get Yao open. They got away from that in my opinion.

Your kidding right? Barry...you want to play Barry? Have you watched any games this year at all. He sucks, he's a turnover machine, (like we need more turnovers), his shot is gone and he can't defend anybody. Wafer might not be the best bench guy we could hope for, but Barry is definately NOT the answer...he sucks!
