If his executione, his game time decisions, rotations, and his laid-back approach are terrible, what part of his coaching do you think is "good"?
I bet if JVG comes back, the same ol stuff would be said about him again. "We don't have any plays besides throwing the ball inside to Yao". "OMG I think my tv froze the Rockets aren't moving!" "FIRE GUNDY!!"
Artest is the leader. He is the hart and sole of this team. He is everything we wanted TMac to be. Im proud to say I was one of the pro Artest to Houston posters here who caught a lot of slack for it. Where are the people who said it was a bad idea now?
Complaining about Adelman's play calling after a time out is like complaining about how Jessica Alba makes your eggs the morning after a great night. Its FREAKING JESSICA ALBA and WE'RE #2 THE WEST WITHOUT TMAC.
JVG is actually not as bad as most of us rate him. Rick has a better squad which is 3 levels leading over JVG's, but Rick still wasn't able to bring our team to the second round last season. JVG has once brought his team to the finals, how about Rick?
Rick took two teams to the finals and actually won some games during the series. Here is extra credit question. What do JVG and Tmac have in common? They both quit on their teams when the going got rough.
Seriously, this isn't that hard. Read the opening post. Listen to Clyde Drexler drunkenly reminisce. Type "Rick Adelman" into google. I'll save you the trouble--Adelman has been to the finals twice. He lost to the Pistons (his blazers team was young and overachieving to get to the finals in the first place) and the Jordan bulls (no shame there). The Kings were the worst-officiated--quarter-in-the-history-of-basketball away from being in the finals one year, too. I don't know why I bother sometimes.
You do know we were at one point last year #1 IN THE WEST WITHOUT YAO? Where did that get us? Until we get to the playoffs, we still haven't proven a damn thing. Sure it looks great now but the playoffs is a whole different story. Umm when did JVG quit on the team? Last I checked, the Rockets didn't want him back.
Exactly, so why b**** and moan about the play calling after a timeoout in the regular season. The rockets had 3 starters other than Yao who required surgery right after that series. Two of which still hasn't full recuperated. Landry also wasn't fully healed at the time and we still did fairly well against the Jazz. JVG quit on the Knicks.
It's futile Tinman, they will learn even though you must have repeated it 1,000 times. Rick's career > JVG's career. JVG is a better tv announcer than Rick.
I was thinking the same thing. How many time has Tinman put the resume in this very thread? Some people's children.
This is the reason why I made this entire thread last year. This is the "WHO IS RICK?" Thread. It's really not to hard to read the first thread. I try not to make it long cause I know the attention span of this board.
Thanks bro. I like how all of the sudden the bandwagoners jumped on rick the rulers now, while when I started this thread they though he started the swine flu. Rick rules.
I want to say that Rick the Ruler is one amazing coach. He had to deal with quiters, trades, fans yelling for Steve Francis... Thanks coach!
He's a great coach, won a lot of games. It's just happened that his team almost never overachieved but consistently underachieved. It marked him as a loser on the top level. It's just Nelson. He's a great coach. If you want a playoff team, bring him in. But if you want a WC team, then forget him.
