So Morey not re-signing him to a new deal because Adelman complains about every Aaron Brooks/Battier/Rafer being traded or won't listen to analytics input is somehow "discrediting his good work"?

If anything, Morey learned from Adelman quite a bit. A lot of what the Rockets do actually are similar to what Adelman's system. In a way it's a modified, extreme version of it. I'm sure if you ask Morey he would speak glowingly about Adelman's coaching job here.

But you know what? I don't for a second regret being on Morey's side during that offseason bickering. If keeping Adelman means not letting the front office interfere with coaching staffs or interject new theories, I was glad he's gone. Morey was bashed endlessly by fans when he let Adelman go. The same fans who now pretend that they weren't all just utterly ridiculously wrong and really had no clue about who truly matter when it comes to building a contender.

Rick's teams were always fun to watch, they were pretty much the antithesis of what we are seeing right now. Contrary to what most might think , I think the Morey/Adelman duo was great. Both kept each other in check.

Definitely miss having a real coach. You don't know what you got til it's gone. I knew I liked Rick but compared to Mchale and JB it's he was a god.

Rick would give Harden the Von Wafer treatment. Rick never bends.

I think Adelman was best rockets coach ever. Brought a system that works and is fun to watch. Not many coaches have that kind of system.

    Adelman is missed everyday

From podcast worth to mention: Lowry on shot selection - need move all the time to get open shot, pass the ball and keep running to get open like Steve Nash, Curry..

    Imagine that attitude from JH...

He also called McHale a no nonsense, hard nosed coach.

Rick Adelman is not walking through that door. JVG is not walking through that door. Rudy T is not walking through that door. Don Chaney is not walking through that door.

Arguably the best offensive mind the Rockets have ever had as a head coach, but his players during his Houston tenure actually played DEFENSE...

He got scrubs to play well beyond themselves...He would be terrific as a head coach on this team. If Rick is up for it...I'd love for him to return...

He was THE best Rockets coach given the circumstances. I think not compromising with Adelman was pure arrogance on behalf of Morey. Rick had that team playing hard every nite. Everybody touched the ball & had a specific role.

Since Rick left we have more talent but less effort & discipline. Letting Rick go turned out to be a mistake.

That's great but he failed in Minnesota and decided to retire. His system is dead now in this new NBA. This is why I feel Bickerstaff's system is also very outdated. We need someone innovative and knows the guard system as well as the Big man game. Sam Cassell comes to mind and so does Ellie. There was a culture of Houston Basketball that disappeared when they left. It was a good mix of running the offence through your bigman and working with strong minded guards. We knew when to turn it on and when to conserve energy. That vision has been lost for a very long time. Rome was not built in a day but it was certainly destroyed with a single trade back in 96-97. That culture must return. The hoorah's and the celebrations of comemorating our past victories are amazing but it is time to bring that culture back. We do not need a new culture of Houston Rockets basketball. We do however need to bring an old one back.

    His system failed in Minny?

It was injuries to Rubio, Pek, and Love. Go check the numbers when bealthy, they were VERY good.

He retired due to wife's health.

Know your info, stop spewing BS.
