Chuck Hayes opened his locker before The Rockets game against The Lakers and found an envelope from Rick Adelman. Inside the envelope was a letter from Rick:

    "Chuck,

Thanks for sealing the win against The Nuggets with that impossible save. I can't put into words how much I appreciate what you do for us, so I will just offer this token of my appreciation. It's a McDonald's Arch Card that Brent Barry gave me last Christmas when he was trying to get more playing time. I believe there is still $2.33 left on it, but I am too lazy to check. The number is on the back.

P.S. I am also going to give you the night off against The Lakers. I talked to Yao and he said he wouldn't run out of gas in the 4th quarter if I made him play the first 16 minutes of the game without a break. Thanks Again, enjoy your game off,

    Rick Adelman.

How did I know somebody would say that? You lose by a small margin. I am pretty sure if Chuck had played, he would have gotten a couple of stops at the very least so the margin would have been closer and you have a better shot to win the game in the 4th.

Not to mention the fact that Adelman spent Yao Ming in the first half. The guy is an idiot.

Good call. Adelman just found out from the Bulls game that this is the best rotation for Yao so he wants to try it again.

When Chuck gets his 6 first half minutes all is well with the world.

When Yao plays more than 12 minutes in a row, it's bad news.

This is strictly my opinion... it is only based in supposition.

Next time you take a team to the WCF you're entitled to call Adelman an "idiot".

Fact is he has had more success as Yao's coach than any of his predecessors. But I guess they were "idiots" too?

Yeah we lost a game - but hey, we're currently 3rd seed in the whole Western conference!
Maybe the idiot knows what he's doing?

What success are you talking about? Van Gundy had an injured Yao and still landed the 4th seed way back when The Suns were "The Suns," The Mavs were "The Mavs," and The Spurs were well, "The Spurs..."

No comparison to that Western Conference and this one my friend. The Lakers minus Gasol were the 7-8 Seed for crying out loud...

And Adelman still dropped the first round series to The Jazz.
