Rick Adelman doesn't play the hot hand. I remember him being stubborn as **** and being a loyal fool

Not even close. Lin wasn't a great shooter but he could shoot. Rubio can't shoot worth a lick and he can't get to the rim. We are talking YMCA type shooting ability. Considering he has been a professional basketball player since he was 16 and is from Europe where everyone can shoot, it does not speak well for his work ethic.

The wolves won't go anywhere until he learns to shoot because people just won't defend him.

If Adelman were a better coach, he would see that JJ should start because he fits better with Kevin Love.

Well, Rubio was 1-1 from 3pt line and 2-4 on jumpshots(13 and 18fter). He also went 3-4 from the line. So if Rubio was shooting so well, why did Adelman sit him?

Everyone is so sure Adelman is a better coach than McHale. But there is a good case to be made for not believing that.

    1) You have to discount McHales MIN coaching experience. He was twice brought in mid-season to replace a failed coach and then replaced once an appropriate candidate was hired. McHale's first true coaching experience began when he was hired by the Rockets.
    2) In 2011-2012, with no training camp to speak of because of the lockout, McHale took basically the same roster as Adelman used the previous season and ended up with approximately the same winning percentage as in the 2010-2011 season. This was in spite of losing about 5 total months from their starting guards.
    3) McHale has shown himself as an excellent judge of young talent. He recognized very early that Parsons was far superior to Bud. People b****ed and moaned about PT for Jones and D-Mo, but this season they have demonstrated that they are both rotation ready and are playing. Adelman was never known as a coach who could nurture and develop young talent.
    4) Adelman could not work with Morey and got issued his walking papers. Morey will never hire a coach who will not work hand in hand to explore players, lineups and strategies. McHale works well with Morey.
    5) McHale handled the complete roster change before the 2012-2013 season flawlessly and made the playoffs. In addition McHale managed to roll with the mid-season dump of the entire PF rotation. I just cannot see Adelman handling those situations well.

Rubio definitely cannot get to the rim and cannot shoot. Incredible deficiency for a European player. However, he's got a good handle, decent D and can pass. Sort of like Rondo.

He's shooting 34 percent for the season which is around his career average. RA was quitting before the law of averages took over.

Rubio's career shooting percentage 35.7 percent
Rondo's career shooting percentage 48 percent

Rondo isn't a great shooter, but he's freaking Larry Bird compared to Rubio. Rubio has less shooting ability than Omer Asik.

i don't think that's people want mchale back. It's been clear that he doesn't like recklessness and flash, otherwise he would have never traded away white chocolate. Why I wanted him back and assume this is the case with many, is that he believes in his system and will not change it for anyone, not yao not harden. He will make slight adjustments to get the best of his players but not throw out everything.

Rick has a 1000 wins as an NBA coach. Just guess how many people have done that? He must be really good at convincing people he isn't a crappy coach.

I have never viewed longevity as an argument for greatness. Oddly they have the same number of rings. Who do you think is getting one first?

Right now, the guy is 3rd in assists and 1st in steals in the NBA. He's becoming exactly the kind of player most people thought he would become. I don't think anyone here ever thought he would become a great scorer.

in this offense i'd rather have lin.

lin was a better 3pt shooter than rubio before he worked on his jumper.

now? no contest. rubio would make defenders pack the paint against us.

it works in minny because love can stretch the D from the 4 spot
