Name me a female star who ever played college tennis. DaD, i agree; he is an ass in public. And I glad you mention that many parents of young millionaires are gravy training....idiot, though. Not quite. The guy could easily care less about his reputation just so his girls stay focused. Time will tell whether his tactics are not wanted by his daughters. They may very well by unwanted...but I don't see it, yet.
Many tennis fathers are, at best, over-bearing: Dokic, Graf, Pierce, Williams. Some tennis parents, fortunately, are not: Moletor (Hingis), Seles. You do not necessarily have to make an ass out of yourself to develop great tennis talent. <hr width=50%> I like the excitment the sisters bring to the WTA, but Venus Williams pulling out of the semi-final match against her sister and the girls playing less than a full-time schedule on the tour indicate their lack of respect for the sport. The guy is an embarrassment to his race for saying that it "was the most racisit thing I've seen since they killed MLK." How offensive is that to the relatives of the guy from Jasper who was beaten and dragged behind a truck until he was decapitated? How offensive is that statement to Rodney King? The guys does indeed have a chip on his shoulder and he needs to get over and just let his daughters play the game like everyone else does. He should be proud of his daughters just as he should be proud of himself for getting them to that level. Now it is time for to back off and just let his daughters compete just like everyone else. They make millions now. What more does he want?! Is that not enough to be able to say "I told you so."? They may have been scorned by the sport a long time ago but now they are on top. What more does he want? To turn this into a racial issue is idiotic. All that he will accomplish is that he will turn his daughters' fans against them. ------------------

Richard Williams is an idiot if He thinks his Daughters are his ticket to sucess , I've seen him interviewed on a talk show and he couldnt stop talking about how he named his Daughter Venus becasue he knew she would be famous . He thinks he is the reason They have had some sucess . Earl Woods did basically the same thing but backed down considerably after Tiger's second year . And about that no college players turn into stars, Im about to go to college, so we will see. ------------------ The next time I have meat and mashed potatoes, I think I'll put a very large blob of potatoes on my plate with just a little piece of meat.
