    I hope he gives a chunk of whatever he gets to his buddies Korny and Wilbon. If it wasn't for them trumpeting him as the smartest guy in baseball on PTI these past few years he'd have 0 national profile.

    He always spewed the party line, never really went full bore on advertisers or potential future employers. All he was good for was the occasional inside scoop, most of which were either obvious or unimportant. Boring to the very end.

    I expect we will still see him writing plenty articles and blogs on the Astros. It just won't be for the other Houston teams anymore.

    The only way that could be remotely good is if McTaggart were coming back to the Chron.

    No, he's going to be a "general columnist" for MLB.com as a whole. Nothing specific to the Astros (which McTaggart is).
