"Well, apparently the shark is after our family.." If anyone can find his lobster skit, post it.
Honestly, one of my favorite comedians of all time. A truly underrated comedian, if there ever was one. Talk about Mitch Hedberg all you want, but Jeni was 10 times better, IMO. <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Z-O4mJKEEqQ"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Z-O4mJKEEqQ" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/rhw8DFSGzvg"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/rhw8DFSGzvg" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/IDiVpae3ixk"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/IDiVpae3ixk" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/WNN19b0Ufoc"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/WNN19b0Ufoc" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
There are reports coming out that Jeni killed himself because he recently found out some extremely bad news regarding his health. I will look for a link and try to post it.
In saw him at the Laff Stop in like 1988 or 89 when i was in high school, and he was terribly hilarious. I can still remember much of his routine that night, it really stuck. He was one of those guys who was just funny to look at and listen to - I am sorry his life ended this way. It is too bad. Fatty - I can't get the skits at work - was that one the Jaws thing? He did a routine on watching Jaws 4 or something at late-night-cable in a hotel that was so good, it just killed that night at the Laff Stop. The place was in hysterics, in disorganized chaos from all the laughter. An amazing skill, to be able to do that to a room full of people, make it sort of a scary vibe because of how hard people are laughing. Great memory for me. RIP Rich Jeni
i've really only seen 2 HBO specials of his but they were both hilarious. probably saw the one they showed the most 6 or 7 times. him describing a golfer finding michael jackson in the woods while looking for a ball is great. and i hadn't seen the Jaws 4 thing until now but it looks like he was as good back then as he is now. really sucks that this happened. he really didn't seem like the depressed comedian type. RIP.
I've seen him many times on Comedy Channel Presents, etc. He was very hilarious and I'm sad he's gone. RIP
