So the NY post asked RJ about his breakup, he said that he broke up with the girl by email. He's giving her a six figure settlement. He says he's not gay.

Jefferson Comes Clean On Wedding

Richard Jefferson spoke candidly with the New York Post after the newspaper reported that he broke off his scheduled wedding.

Jefferson informed his fiance, Kesha Ni'Cole Nichols, of his decision via email.

"There was a lot of stress and tension in the relationship. We've been through a lot -- but we just couldn't continue," said Jefferson, sounding upset during a telephone interview.

"I'm not trying to buy her off," said Jefferson of the six-figure settlement he gave her. "She has a lump sum to help her move on."

He added, "I've made my mistakes in this relationship, 100 percent. But at the end of the day, there were some people who were responsible for the demise of it."

He insisted a rumor he's gay had nothing to do with the breakup.

"I'm not gay," Jefferson said. "That couldn't be any further from the truth. I have nothing to hide."

i dont think it was a dick move on rj for telling his friends late.

first of all, if you tell your girl that the wedding's off, you dont go ahead and tell your friends that it's off. it's more rude if your friends know that there wont be a wedding while the jilted party doesnt even know yet.

im sure rj, intended to let the girl break the news to her parents and friends first. and the only sure way to know that without being at the wedding is to tell your friends late. at least it was 2hrs before. some weddings, the runaway spouse-to-be usually doesnt show up at the wedding by the time it's gonna start.

as for the reason for breaking up, i give rj and the girl the benefit of the doubt. it's their life. and wouldnt it be better not to have gotten married than having an ugly divorce later on. look at chris bosh and dwayne wade, players whom people here have been clamoring for.

come on. you think wade's a whole lot better person? you look at his wife and then look at kelly rowland and gabrielle union. now that's a dick move. he left his wife whom he's supposed to love since hs because now he's a celeb and he can have all these hot ladies. now that aint right
