Richard Hamilton: Could we pry him away form the Wizards?

    Sorry folks but Rip Hamilton is not a SF. I would love to acquire him if we didnt have Cuttino, but Rip does not have the bulk or size to play the 3 spot. He's a skinny 6-6. Just b/c he played the 3 at UConn doesnt really count for much, Michael Dickerson played SF at Arizona and Elton Brand and Kenyon Martin played center on Duke and Cincinnati. Positions change in the NBA.

    If the Rockets were willing to go the 6-6 route for the 3 position, they would have taken someone like Mo Pete last yr who fits this team like a glove. They want a 3 man that is 6-8 or taller, can shoot, defend, etc. If Rip Hamilton were 6-9, then this could be something to look at but he isnt.

    Exactly. In the West, Hamilton, a toothpick, would have to go up against Abdur-Rahim, Odom, Marion, Horry, Marshall, etc. He simply does not have the size to hold these bigger 3's.
