HP, I can't wait till we beat the living crap out of Rice on saturday. I happen to go to UT and work in the sports department of the on campus tv station, KVR-TV. and saw plenty of UT baseball this yr. For you to say we have a weak offense just shows how naive and misinformed you are. Practically every coach we played said this is the most well balanced offense UT has had in years. Do the names Dustin Majewski, Jeff Ontiveros, Tim Moss and Ryan Hubele ring a bell? If you haven't heard of them yet, you will on Saturday. Also, do not tell me Rice has a better pitching staff or deserves to win because they've been there. We have the nation's best ERA and were at the CWS two years ago, while Rice last made it in 1999. Finally, on preparedness, we beat you guys TWICE and we won a tough BIG 12 Conference while you get to pound the joke of a conference known as the WAC.
Yep. But, your athletic director was foolish (or greedy) enough to schedule a series with the Horns over the next what 5 years? I doubt Rice will be within 21 points in any of those games. Sounds like a euphemism to me... .306 batting average with aluminum bats...please. It's OK for you to search for all the stats you can to convince yourself that you belong in the CWS...as a Rice fan, I understand what it is to get no respect for overachieving. I admire your fanaticism for trying to find something at UT that isn't underacheiving. Just remember, it's OK if you lose as an underdog....you gave it your best shot, as your coach said after getting selected to face us, "Rice is the best team in the nation, no doubt."
Remember, we are talking about your currently overachieving baseball team, not your perennially underachieving football team who can't beat Rice in the last game of our SWC match-up.
Man, it's great when opposing fans consider a top 5 finish an "underachievement." You know yhou've arrived when opposing fans nitpick at that. Check the FSU and Miami fan boards; even they know that Mack is about to right this ship and has basically shut FSU and other OOS schools out of Texas. RM95, please let's not turn this into a Mack Brown bashing post. BTW, UT is the only program this year to have theri men's football/baseball/ basketball teams all finish in the top 16. It never sucks to be a fan of the #1 Team in the nation. It must suck for the UT Baseball Team for you guys to completely curtail a thread about your best sport--a Spring Sport--to try to convince a Rice fan that we didn't get the last laugh on your worst sport--your Fall Sport...football. So sad!!! Your baseball team gets no respect. It's just terrible they have to face the best team in the nation first round, and their fans defend them by mentioning how "great" you sorry ass, underachieving football team is. ooh...is that a sore spot!!
HP, Get over yourself. UT did not "overachieve" big time this year, so I suggest you take the blinders off now. We do have a good offense, whether you want to believe me or not. I don't like your condescending attitude about how Rice is all that, and we, being UT are just lucky to be here and are playing over our sweet little heads. I'm sorry, but we played you twice and won both times. Were they close games, sure, but what do you expect from two top ten teams, that is if you even believe we are deserving of our ranking. I have no ill will towards Rice University, but if you think only one here can trash talk with the best of em and that your opinion is the end all of this discussion, I can't wait till you are proven dead wrong on Saturday. Also, please try and explain to me that the WAC is as good of or better baseball conference than the Big 12. Same went for UH and CUSA. Are these programs good? No doubt. But as I said earlier both these schools are expected on an annual basis to win their respectative conferences. The big 12 has a good 4 or 5 teams that can easily win the conference. I respect and admire the job Wayne Graham has done at Rice and I give them props on beating LSU. However, if you think we are an overachieving fluke and don't belong in Omaha, go ahead, because on Saturday night you will regret ever making those statements.

LOL!! Haha. Football is our worst sport? We finished #5 there, we're in the top 5 in baseball (beaten your team twice) and we finished in the top 15 in basketball. Let's not bring up swimming and diving and other sports. We're good in EVERYTHING. I'm used to other schools fans envying UT and what it's inevitably gonna be in the next decade. Dang I sure missed alot First off no Rice fan should make fun of the UT football team. You are the fan of team who last won an outright conference championship in 1957, and last played a postseason game in 1961. Record wise you were the worst team in the former SWC with losing records against the 7 no make that 8 other schools. There's a reason why the premier WAC teams left to form their own conference. There's a reason why a former SWC school TCU was asked to join C-USA and Rice was not. Well, according to the two main college baseball polls released this week-Baseball America and I can't remember the other one-Rice is #1 and some weak hitting team that's lucky to be in Omaha is #2.

They deserver to be in the CWS, and probably should have gotten a better draw than Rice. RM95, UT has the worst batting average in the CWS, ten points worse than Nebraska. I guess it's because of your tough conference. gr8-1, You really think your Football team is better than you Baseball Team...and you really think I'm envious of your baseball team because they're ranked lower than Rice, that's a good. Sounds like a the 3rd baseman at LSU telling us "We have Rice right where we want them," after we shut them out. haha But I do commend you effort in trying to convince me to become a UT fan.
