1. Kobe Bryant 2. Derrick Rose 3. LeBron James 4. Dwight Howard 5. Dwyane Wade 6. Dirk Nowitzki 7. RUSSELL WESTBROOK Claims Westbrook does more things better at his position than Durant does. Ric Bucher....
IMO, the easy part of this is to have LeBron #1 followed by Kobe. Only after those two is it really debatable. He's completely lost his mind to put KD behind WB & Dirk based on season-to-date performance.
Bucher obviously doesn't like Oklahoma City and is trying to break them up by feeding Westbrook's ego. That's the only logical explanation I could come up with as to why he would even think to put Westbrook above Kevin Durant. I mean, you'd have to TRY to be that dumb.
This guy said last year Derrick Rose was the best player in the league. I listened to him on ESPN radio explaining his logic, and it was just a mess.
Westbrook not top 5 ? Give me a break.......He is right up there behind Rose and Paul. I'd have him 3rd or 4th.
westbrook is a good basketball player, but a terrible point guard. I would argue that you can put anyone at the 1 on that team, and they will do just as well. Westbrook suffers from overpenetration and not picking his spots to shoot. He's just blessed to have a gifted scorer in durant (and now harden) to make him look good. Westbrook has no control of pace whats so ever. If you watch him play, he only goes at one speed ALL THE TIME. Also, he never really hits players in rythmn, a lot of the time it's bail out or going for that flashy play. He also gets really caught up into one on one combat at the PG position when he feels like the other player is trying to show him up. I think people are too enthralled by his speed and athletic tools, when in reality, they aren't really doing too much for him. Sure he can put up gawdy numbers from time to time, but that doesn't change the fact that he fails at point guarding duties. He is a shooting guard trying to play point guard. When has that EVER worked.
I agree to an extent. Westbrook is the most influential player on the Thunder. The Thunder go as Westbrook goes. Westbrook is a better defender and rebounder at his position compared to Kevin Durant. On offense, Westbrook opens things up more than Durant and even though Westbrook hated on, he's a much better playmaker than Durant.
Ofcourse westbrook is the better playmaker (although not by much, his assist numbers suck for a starting pg), but the question is not who are the top 7 playmakers in the NBA but who are the top 7 players in the NBA. I understand Kobe being number 1 because of the last couple of games, but KD is a notch below Lebron
