This is a good point. I think as a 20 minute a night guy he would be phenomenal but he isn't anywhere near the player he was 5 years ago. Unfortunately, he still has the same attitude and I don't think he would accept being a role player or coming off the bench. If his mindset was right he would be a great pickup but a 6'10" three point shooting, a-hole isn't exactly what the doctor ordered for this team.
Sheed would be the perfect insurance policy for Yao. He's a guy that can play both center and the 4 and he still plays very well. If we did manage to aquire him, Landry or Scola would be gone, perhaps for a SG. Personally, I think having a good 4/5 has to be a top priority for Houston.
WALLACE NO NO NO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Street Personality & LAZY!YES YES & YES for Hedo Turkoglu fits our chemistry much better and is the player in which Les keeps his word to go over the salary cap!
baller4life, u right, I should be more kinder, gentler way of expressing my views, so let me re-phrase for the newer, more sensitive generation. The generation that was given timeouts by their parents and got a ribbon even for last place finish. So here it is, its great morey is interested in a player like wallace, but I feel a guy like him is more concerned with winning a ring and a team that gives him the best shot. He has made a lot of money for a long time. When looking at the options which includes players and coaches, I think the spurs will be a better option to wallace than the rockets.
Agreed totally on that last part. Does he start in Houston? I don't think so. Does he start in SA? Yep, definitely. SA is the much better option because he not only starts but can possibly ride his way to another title. Definitely the best option out there for him besides, say Cleveland.
I'd love to have Sheed on this team. He can play a little center too when we play small ball. I'm hoping to see Yao on the floor less and less this season, as long as we are getting wins. We're building for a championship and it feels great.
Baller4life, rasheed like a lot of players play better when they're winning. I don't think wallace is through as a good player even if he shoots more threes than ft's, but for him, he needs to be on a strong structure team. When Detroit was in contention, he played better, but when they traded billups and the team was out, he mentally checked out. On his best day, he's better than scolandrry combined, but his best days are fewer and far between. When he go to Sa or Cleveland, he will be demanded by pop, duncan or shaq, lbj to get with it and play.I don't think anyone in houston ahs that kind of juice since he has been more of a winner than anyone in houston. In Sa, he will give them the spacing of bonner, but he can also post up guys. In cleveland, he will give them the space and versitility to play with shaq and the kickout abilities of lbj. I don't see him in houston.
Rasheed looked VERY old in that Cleveland series and throughout the year. I'm sure he still has some spurts of All-Star caliber play left but for the most part I think he's rapidly declining. He'll still be a good fit in SA or Cleveland due to good systems/players and their ability to mask his weaknesses. I think he's ideally a bench player at this point, unless a team like SA can afford to start him. Which, as we both agree, is the best fit for him.
I dont think your talkin about the same RA i have seen coach for the past few years, he doesnt sit his stars no matter how bad there doing. Sadly wafer wasnt a star so he got the shaft when it came to mistakes
I think Sheed would be a great short term fit for the Rockets. He's perfect at the high post a la Chris Webber from RA's Sac team.
Artest may not be back and if taylor and budinger show they are ready to play then i don't think we have enough roster spots unless a trade is on its way
Wallace is a declining player. He's not worth a full mid-level deal. He's 34 years old. Unless the Rockets are moving one of their power forwards, he won't get many minutes anyway.
