spoken like a true rocket fan!!! on a side note why cant we get kg, tmac , and yao. Les says he wont go above the salary cap unless its a sure fire player. kg=sure fire
So what's your plan to drug up Kevin McHale and make not care about getting a superstar in return for his franchise player?????
Something else to think about..... Minnesota just drafted Rashad McCants, so they already have their undersized shooting guard. If our Moochie MLE would make the deal work, it would make more sense to just keep Luther and take out the swapping of second and first rounders. Of course, Minnesota wants to go athletic, so maybe they're OK with adding Luther Head to a lineup that already includes Rashad McCants, Trenton Hassell, Marko Jaric and (blarf!) Troy Hudson. Man, here it is only the ides of March and the what-big-a$$-trades-can-we-pull are already being thrown about. Hopefully Ric Bucher isn't full of it. Not that I can picture us trading away (a healthy) T-Mac when he forced a trade to Houston in the first place; but it is a business, and KG/Yao is at least fun to picture. Try taking it inside on THAT duo.
I love KG but I don't think we should trade Tmac for him. KG needs a finisher along his side as much as Yao does and that is something we will be losing in TMac. If we were debating a Tmac for Lebron, Kobe or even Wade, then I would probably consider it. With the players we have around Yao at the current moment I don't see how even trading Tmac for KG would help that much. Adding KG would be a nice thought but not trading TMac for him.
It's not just you. That's what I want too. But the chances of that happening are unknown. He may recover from this umpteenth back issue and play like the T-Mac we know and love or he might never play more games in a season than he did in this one. Players with recurring injuries are always a gamble. At this point I'd call counting on McGrady's back to heal sufficiently that we can count on him to help us get to and then play in the playoffs a serious gamble. I'm glad I won't be the one making the decision and even more glad that it will be made by people who have far more information on the long term implications of his back issues. But if we decide to stick with him, even if a player like KG is available, and next year's like this one (neither a pessimistic nor optimistic scenario), it will have been the wrong decision.
Yawn. By that logic, a "true" Rockets fan would have opposed the T-Mac trade in order to stick by Francis. About half of our team wasn't even on the roster last year. And last year's roster was more than half newbies to the team. T-Mac's an elite player. I hope he gets healthy and we keep him. But don't act like he's a Hakeem or a Yao or something, drafted by us and destined to spend his whole career in Rockets red. We're his third team and he's been here under three years -- less time than Francis was before him. And I didn't hear a lot of "true" Rockets fans crying about that trade.
So we already have a player dumped by the worst team of eastern conference playing 40+ mins, now today we got another one dumped by one of the worst teams in western conference. Good job, Rockets management!
