Some fresh air might do you some good pal.

We're all just speculating here including you with your prognostications about how Morey has something else up his sleeve that will cause the Rockets to obtain Howard and D Williams.

I guess you're wired into that with your close personal contact to the Rockets GM?

So if you've given yourself permission for the sake of those wanderings, then don't get your hackles up when someone else has a different version of how this will all play out.

i must confess, i'm not opposed to the trade if it is a precursor to another trade. But i continue to resent being hamstrung as an organization by an owner who refuses to build a contender through the draft, like Chicago and OKC did (ironically the best teams in their respective conferences). Our post-yao rebuilding era is gonna drag out for a freaking decade at this rate. So God-damn frustrating!

Barkley was traded 4-1, but the deal came with two additional starters added as a direct result.

The Gasol deal was the same thing. It came with Nene and Chuck, unless you are one of the believers it did not.

When one weighs in with facts weigh that fact in, as well.

Prediction: Gasol will be a Rock 3/16. Lowry, too. A third and possibly a fourth team will be involved, best guesses Minnie and PoLand. Guesses, not facts.

Great! Lets play third or 4th wheel! I'd much rather have Pekovic than pay Pau's salary! Cleveland needs better production at sg - send em KMart for Sessions and Gibson, Sessions and Scola to LA, Pau to Minnie, I'll take Pekovic, Beasley or Derrick Williams (and Gibson)... that would give us a great young team to grow on... plug in a couple expirings where needed, squeeze a draft pick or two... gold! Get er done, Morey!

I doubt Wolves want Gasol for Rubio. First, Rubio is going to be a restricted FA (unless he signs an extension first), so he can't exactly choose to leave. Also, by the time Rubio hits restricted free agency, Pau Gasol will be like 34 or 35. Not sure if the allure of playing with Pau in his mid to late 30s is a huge determining factor even if they are pals.

Except that isn't true. Whilst Nene and Chuck may have been part of Morey's and the Rocket's plans ultimately, it had nothing to do with deal involving the Lakers and the Hornets.

Just keep in mind, any rumors involving the Rox that come from the Rox and any trades that happen are with another end result in mind. Until Dwight and DWill are settled and salted away long-term somewhere, while they are still in play, all our moves are going to be focused on trying to acquire both of them.

Exactly. Do what you can to clear room in the cap for Dwight and D-Will. Get the stars to come first, and fill in with role players later.

Personally, I would make the trade for Pau. Everyone on our team is "Trade-able". If this includes Lowry, then so be it. With that being said, we wouldn't need to just make the trade to get Pau. As others have stated, we need to be involved in a 2nd, and/or 3rd trade to put the icing on the cake. Why do this? Because 6 days ago we we're 4th in the West...now we're 8th and right on the border of being the BEST Lottery team for the 3rd straight year. Our team needs to make a drastic change NOW and I'm 100% all for it!

    KJay,

You know perfectly well the Lakers could have Ramon Sessions without any help from Houston and for a price far less than Gasol. They won't play in any three way deal that doesn't fundamentally reshape the value add.

If the Rockets want to go trade for Rondo and in some way can manage to hang onto Lowry while they do it, then great, that works. Otherwise it's preposterous nonsense.

Sure, it's possible--trade 2/3 of the Rockets for Kobe and Gasol.

WTF? the problem here is simple reading comprehension. Where did I say that?

PLEASE, stop putting words into people's mouths. If we're all just speculating - and we are - don't pretend like you have a real clue on who is coveting whom. you don't.

This is a good theory, however you're missing the biggest fact of all: When Stern nixed the trade, he said he'll let the trade go through again IF DM gives up better, younger talent...ie Patterson and Lowry. DM walked away then, I have no reason to believe he won't walk away now. Lowry is off the table if all he's gonna get you is Pau Gasol.

That's just it - I believe the Lakers HAVE to move Gasol to do anything - and they need someone that will and can take his salsry...

They wanted Beasley. At the cost of a first round pick (which they have 2 or 3 - none of which are great) they declined because they are so far into luxury tax land, any contract they take on is gonna essentially cost them double the salary...

Look at the Lakers roster - they really have no tradeable assets other than Pau - unless they wanna part with Kobe (who contractually can say no) or Bynum.... If you're Cleveland are u gonna give up Sessions for late first round pick(s) and have to eat a contract like MWP 3 yrs/6.8M, Walton 2 yrs 5.7M, Blake 3 yrs/4M, Josh McRoberts 2 yrs at 3M or take expiring contracts? Really, THE BEST the lakers could offer are late first round pick(s) and Blake or expirings - if yer Cleveland - why bother?

The Lakers are in a corner - don't let em fool ya... If they cant move Gasol - they cant do anything...
