The article did say that Melo would sign the extension (I'm thinking only once he agrees to which team he'd be dealt to). If Denver offers up a re upped Melo, I'd sell the farm for him. He's a top 5-7 player, and possibly the best scorer in the NBA.
It's not that hard...Martin, Jeffries and any of the kids gets you there. You have to get Carmelo to sign the 3 year extension though. You can't give up Brooks unless you have a PG targeted with your 6 million trade exception.
The trade chips the Rockets have: Jordan Hill Aaron Brooks Kevin Martin Shane Battier (7 mill expiring) Jared Jeffries (6.8 mill expiring) Chase Budinger Courtney Lee Chuck Hayes (3 mill expiring) Patrick Patterson Knicks picks (Right to swap picks with Knicks 2011, top 1 protected, top 5 protected 2012 pick) Our own picks (2012 onwards) Trade exceptions- Ariza-6.3m Dorsey-800k Landry-1.6 m J.White-800k Realistically speaking, that could definitely net two superstars with a GM of Morey's ability. And even if we cashed all these in, we'd still have a Miller/Yao/Scola/Lowry core to build around any incoming superstars (Melo, Granger, Paul etc.)
hello, rox fans. please wake up. melo is not interested in houston. plain and simple. amare, melo, and cp3 have already decided. do you really believe wade, queen lebron, and bosh didn't know their detination before the summer? ok, your guys can dream whatever you want. i just feel sad when i realized how many rox fans are doing day dream.
good point!!! why don't they dream of queen lebron coming here in the middle of season? oh, btw, i forgot kobe. we can trade for kobe. with him, we have a lineup, blah, blah, and blah. let's dream on what we have, wish ab has another breakout season, yao being super healthy, and km, a deke at sg position.
the only reason he is suggested to be on the trading block is because of the fact he WONT sign an extension.
Morey has already said he thinks Melo is overrated. I agree with that. I don't see us going hard after Anthony.
I am not overly happy with Melo. I am not a fan of his game. Now sure what he brings besides a large price tag Rocket River
Ditto, but if they can get him for the right price (which includes a re-up) then they should go for it. DD
It is not completely out of consideration. Not many teams have the assets to send out in a trade that we do (if any) and he'd be perfect for us I think. Superstar, go to scorer. I'LL TAKE THAT! If Denver feels like they won't be able to keep him, they'd love to include us in a deal. We can offer young talent, K-Mart, future picks etc. That's a great package for a team that would have to rebuild. I would only do it if Melo would agree to a extension though.
I want Melo if an extension is included in the package...if he really wants to go to NYK, Morey will do his best to help them again..expect us to get Gallinari for just Jeffries + fillers.
Interesting. When did he say that, and what did he say about him? I'm not disagreeing with you, just curious.
