    For who?

There are no other players to trade Melo for, that would be better than Martin.

I dunno. Have not looked at the Class of 2011
    However.
We may not get an A+ guy .. but maybe two B+ guys
    who knows
Also . . if something were to happen to Yao in that year with melo
we can get some nice draft picks maybe

if houston trades for melo, then we will lose value. the package we give to denver will be better than the package we recieve from knicks when melo threatens to walk

and he can walk, because ny has the cap space.

even if its a 1 year rental, melo gave up in the utah series, and that shows when his heart isnt in it, he wont try.

so, he wont try with houston, it will be like artest. he will play good, but then tank in playoffs so he can have an "out" AND "EXCUSE" for when he walks.

he will never be a rocket at heart, because he knows this isnt his future home. ny is so he will just be here to collect a check and nothing else.

    be happy with budinger.

btw,is iggy really that much better than ariza/budinger? not for his salary+the pieces we give up...salary cap hell for a borderline allstar in iggy, just not worth it.

both these deals have "win now and morgage the future" written all over them

im tired of impatience of the rockets. just let brooks, martin, budinger, patterson, hill stay together for the next 6 years because they are all young enough to remain a core for years

Melo is in exactly the same situation that Tmac was in, Houston traded for Tmac because they knew he would sign an extension.

Same bat time, same bat place.

the funny thing is, we as clutch fans think yao may never play at a top level again, yet we expect bosh and melo and chris paul to turn down every team and join us to play with yao

we all all hypocrits. if we dont know yao's status, why should carmelo know yao's status?

trade deadline is the soonest any deal happens, and even then players in the league dont like yao because he is chinese. i believe racism plays a major part in urban players decision to play with an overrated black amare or chinese yao. the players are choosing overrated amare even though yao is better when healthy. i think players are using health as an excuse, the real problem is yao is not known as "thug" enough to gain respect from wannabe thugs like carmelo

Melo seems way to good to be true. PP+Jeffries+trade exception+Knick pick(s) = Carmelo?!

    drooooooooool

I think it would instantly make us BETTER than Miami. I need to slapped, this is a dream.

Are you guys forgetting that Bucher mentioned that Anthony would sign an extension in Denver to get max money then he would be traded.

WTF are you talking about? Where do get the notion players are racist against Yao. That is one of the most ridiculous comments I've seen in this forum. lol

Denver may bite on that deal if they sweeten it with cash and draft picks.

Caron butler is a dorp off from mello but he is a better defender.

With chandler at the 5 you could put Nene at the 4.

With Butler giving you added defense you move Smith into the starting line up at the 2.

    Billups
    Smith
    Butler
    Nene
    Chandler

That is a pretty sporty starting line up. You would win at least 50 games with that line up.

You still end up with cap relief at the end of the year with chandler coming off the books for 12 mil.

yep. he's from that area too, his wife is from there and they got married there. and guess who came to their wedding? Amare did. I think he has his mind made up on where he wants to be. nothing is changing that and nothing is stopping him from going to NY when his contract is up. and besides I don't see him meshing with this team anyway.

They can trade their 2016 1st rounder, but apparently Michael Kay is a PBP announcer for the Yankees...

I got a feeling Melo wants to go ONLY to New York because that's where he want to be and his wife is living there. So to me, it appears winning Championship is not as important to him as be in a place where he called home. So if that's his thought, then Houston have no chance to getting him then.

Everyone keeps saying that Melo would be a one year rental when he still has 2 years left on his contract.

He can opt out after this year, just like TMac could when he left Orlando...and did to re-up with the Rox.

The "An A bomb for AROD" Yanks radio guy, he also has a talk show. That is all??? Expiring contract, nice young prospect SF and a pick in the back half of this decade?

In that case, Bud, Battier, Jeffries and Knicks swap option in 2011. One year rental all of real value we lose is Bud.

Edit - Wrong guy, I was thinking of Sterling.
