Actually I would say that being too picky is what got us to that performance...because if they weren't picky enough they would have pulled the trigger on ONE of the young qb's two years ago.

To me they were too picky because BoB seemed to only want one of his guys.

Well, if we go by what Dallas thinks, then every NFL player wants to be a Cowboy.

If the Houston is not interested in RG3? I really want to know why.

Well if they aren't interested it would probably be that they didn't think he has the mentality to turn things around. A lot of really bad things were said about him during his time in Washington.

What does BOB always stress about his football players?

    1. They need to be a good teammate. RGIII routinely throws his coaches and teammates under the bus.

    2. He wants his players to play smart. RGIII doesn't know when and how to slide, and he'll have to learn a complex offensive system when he's only been successful with zone read stuff.

RGIII would be a project over here that I would be fine with taking, but if we only bring him in with a draft pick I would be worried.

RG3 sucks, seriously every good Texas college quarterback is obsessed about regardless if they show promise in the NFL or not.

Texans have major cap room, sign Bradford to a one year "show me" deal and Draft a QB to compete against Savage

Any "show me" deal QB will likely be another Hoyer,
a QB who has "shown me" he is not good enough to lead his team into the playoffs.

I'd rather the Texans started Savage to see what he can do
and get the next development QB on the second draft day
and have Hoyer/Weeden/Yates/Keenum as the backup QB.

I hate to say it but Hoyer is probably our starter going into '16. I would actually be slightly shocked if that's not the case - don't see any of Savage, Yates, RG3, Weeden, Draft Pick beating him out for week 1. Maybe by week 6 or 8 it will be different, say a rookie accelerates quickly or Hoyer continues to suck and they give Savage a shot.

No doubt at $25 large, Bradford will.

Well he might want to think about changing his requirements because the qbs hes brought in have been average at best.

Had Griffin gone to a school like Texas, Michigan, USC, etc., I think he would be in a better place today. He was Baylor's first Heisman winner and they treated him like a god. They built a ****ing statue for him. They made a monster. Maybe these last two years have humbled him, but if not, his arrogance will never let him succeed in the NFL.

Have their been any indications one way or the other that RGIII has gotten over himself??

I would hope he would after seeing how his team took to humble, minivan-whippin Kirk Cousins. But even if not I find it very unlikely that a better QB shakes loose and you gotta hope that BOB and the Texans culture could change or work with him.

I agree with what you are trying to say, but not the schools you listed. Clearly going to UT didn't do Vince Young any favors, he makes RG3 look like a genius. As to USC, that school is a draft bust farm outside of Carson Palmer....who had problems with the Bengals to the point where he faked retirement.

RG3 was great when healthy and when running the read option. Unfortunately neither of of things are possible anymore.

He is not the same athlete as he once was. Since 2012 he has:
    • sprained his ACL
    • torn his ACL
    • torn his LCL
    • torn his meniscus
    • dislocated his ankle
    • been concussed twice

This has been due to a combination of having a brittle body, not being good at avoiding contact, and Shanahan leaving him in the game to get more injured. In 2012, he had world class speed and athleticism, but since the injuries, while still fast, he has not been fast enough to be special as a running QB.

In regards to running the read-option, it will be difficult to implement because:
    • you have to change the whole offense and I don't think many teams are willing to do that
    • Robert himself lobbied to not run read-option after 2012 bc he wants to be more like Manning and Rodgers
    • teams have caught up to it when run exclusively. Successful read option in the NFL nowadays is having it mixed in with effective pocket passing too.

So RG3 will not be a starter in the NFL imo (and of course many others who have followed him closely since 2012). He is ineffective from the pocket without the threat of running, and he can't run effectively anymore due tot he reasons above. He can't make pocket plays consistently at an NFL level. Please read the article about what Cooley said from two seasons ago:
    https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...cant-assess-the-rest-of-the-redskins-offense/

Also, there are secondary reasons that some organizations don't like about him:
    • his teammates hate him
    • he's aloof
    • he goes around coaches to politic to ownership to implement his wishes
    • he tells coaches not to show bad film of him
    • while he has had great work ethic in the gym, he has lacked the same dedication to film and playbook study
Like I said a few pages ago, these secondary things aren't important to me because winning trumps all, but I can see how some organizations would shy away from Robert because of it.

I agree with most of these. He is redeemable but I think he needs to be backup somewhere else first. Prove that he has changed his game and team mentality, and he'll be ready to be a starter again.
