Everyone's doubted us all season, I don't mind proving them wrong one more time. LET'S GO ASTROS!!!!!
i love being the underdog!! would you call Chicago WhiteSox a small market team? considering when you think about baseball in Chitown you think Cubs...
but I thought they said we were going to lose to the Braves... WRONG!!! and I thought they said that we were over-matched against the Cards... WRONG AGAIN!!! Now they say we are going to lose to the White Sox.. THREE STRIKES ... YOU"RE OUT!!!
oh, and don't forget steve phillips, who also picked the Sox. of course, he also said, at the beginning of the year, that we would be the 2005 answer to the 2004 Mariners. bite it, steve. keep doubting, jackasses. GO STROS!!!
Saw this report, and I loved it. Keep hatin' on Houston- we have a good record in the final game, b****es!
I live in Chicago... I hope I don't get killed wearing my Clemens jersey around tomorrow. Also.. watching the Sox all season... The fans here are bandwagoners... since the Sox have a habit of going on really cold streaks.. hopefully it starts Saturday. Remember.. this was a team that came VERY close to not making the playoffs themselves.
I believe at the beginning of the postseason, the Astros had the most votes among ESPN analysts as the WS winner. So we're actually getting some national spotlight. I think that right now, they're just too busy gushing over the four straight complete game victories of the Sox to notice us. That said, I am somewhat concerned about this Sox staff. The Astros hitters, other than Berkman and Ensberg, aren't exactly all that patient at the plate. If we go up there hacking recklessly in the WS, these predictions can easily come true.
Just a side note. How low will the ratings go for this world series. Two teams that can't hit that are fairly low-key teams and markets. (although we dont like to admit that)
that's exactly what i'm thinking. i don't really care if we're underdogs or not but i think it's clear the national folks are jaded by those complete games. i think this is going to be an amazing sereis though, a couple very equally matched teams.
Hey, in fairness the White Sox should be favored in this series. They have starting pitching that rivals our Big Three(+Backe), a bullpen that's maybe slightly inferior, better offense, and an equally great manager. Plus home field advantage and a few days extra rest. That being said, the Astros have thrived on being underdogs all season long(Jayson Stark notwithstanding ). And they never cease to amaze me. Their performance in Game 6 took a lot of balls considering how devastating Pujols' homer was. Astros in 6.
