It was their defense. OKC was helpless when the Mavs clamped down on them late. Their basic playground style of offense completely fell apart. The Lakers team chemistry was long gone because of Pau's girlfriend problems. Another thing about that Mavs team I respect is Caron Butler was their 2nd best player. He blew out his knee mid-season and they still won it all. At the time, it felt dirty watching them win and not being disgusted by it. But their wonderful sweep of the Lakers earned them a temporary pass.
