That be awesome. He did play great tonight but i was a bit turned off by his showboating. haha everytime he dunks, he raises his hand like ," I didn't have to do that".

On the topic: Landry for the long term and big baby for the short term. It's like a new car vs a used one. Depends on how well the owners take care of them self*ahem davis weight problem

Haha, he did that at Purdue too. I think it's just ingrained into him.

Haven't seen much of Davis, but from looking at the stats and seeing Landry, I'd rather have Landry. Landry is a hell of a rebounder and showed tonight that he can score around the basket. When Carl's had significant minutes, he's produced. Can he hit the midrange jumper? I hope he gets more chances to show what he can do so we can get a better feel for his game. Looked awesome tonight!

I don't know who will be better long term, but I do know this. After Landry's performance tonight, the coaches have to get this kid some court time. He has shown flashes before, but, tonight, he displayed some big time moves.

Landry fits much better than Davis in Aldeman's system... Davis in my opinion wouldn't do so well next to Yao... so my pick goes to Landry because of his Aggressiveness, hustle, and passion for the game... He needs more playing time thats all..

Yeah he is, last Saturday I saw him an hour before the game setting picks and rolling out to the three and catching and shooting.

He was making lots of them.

I never wanted them to pick Big Baby , I thought that would of been the worst thing they could of done and still believe that. They needed someone to complement Yao's lack of athleticism. How many of those shots were beyond 2 foot? How many of those shots were because he was left open cus he was not an offensive threat, layups after layups sorta what Hayes does. We needed someone who plays above the rim. Landry is the perfect fit. Why would we need 2 slow guys one tall and one fat, we would be playing horrible, try fitting his fat butt in RA's system. He would be sitting down on the bench just like Mike James.

The Key to this question is who do you want to put next to Yao Ming. I'll take the quick athlete with a jumper.

If it's just any team drafting, I'd go for Baby. Baby is a fantastic personality as well and really connects with the fans.

landry have a good game against a bad team's 2nd team. While Davis played one of his best game against the pistons in DOT. Its not even close.

Glenn Davis is just fat. I think he is better than landry, but he won't last long if he can't keep his weight down.

Carl Landry still have a long way to go in this league. if he gets good mid range shooting, things will get better for him. I think Glen is a good substitution for Yao.

It's still early to judge, but frankly I don't like the idea of Big Baby next to Yao. As a backup center, maybe, but not as a PF next to Yao -- I don't see how that will work (probably a bad analogy, but it's just like the way Curry + Randolph doesn't work). He's naturally going to look better in Boston because he's playing next to a great PF in KG who can space the floor and give him room to operate down low.

Plus -- Landry just seems to be a high-IQ type player. He has every attribute you'd want in a power forward playing next to a dominant big man except for the size, which I expect he'll add with time. The shooting range alone is enough to make him the preferred choice.

I prefer Landry, since a slow PF next to Yao doesnt seem to work very well. Davis works well with a quicker C or in a lineup with KG at the 4 and Davis at the 5.

As a Purdue grad living in Houston, I got my Landry info from the Boiler website. They always listed him as 6-7. I couldn't believe we drafted another undersized 4 to compete with Hayes. Then we were told he measured 6-9 at the predraft camp. Then I thought he might be able to rebound at the NBA level and his mobility and range would be needed on the Rockets. When Scola was acquired, I knew that Landry would be brought along slowly without the pressure to perform immediately.

I didn't want Davis because Davis as a 4 next to Yao is made for a JVG team, not a RA team. Landry has a ways to go, but he's betterfor us in the long run.

Just from the bits that I have seen of Davis, he does look like he has a body type that will make it very hard for him to keep his weight down, so his productive years might be very limited in the NBA.

Haven't seen much of either one but ill pass on Oliver Miller part deux.

Oliver was just like Davis, had so much talent but ate his way out of the league. Hopefully that doesn't happen to Davis.

I agree, right now it's hard not to pick Davis over Landry but the guy is what 22 years old and looks like Barkley currently. Landry will have a better pro career I'm sure.

landry. more skilled. more versatile. more athletic. etc etc.

the guy can play! flat out. And dont dare leave him open for a 15-17 footer, because it's money

Having Yao on the team I'da went with Landry, just like how it transpired.
If Yao wasnt on the team, I'da gone with Davis.

If Big Baby was on the team, would he have cut into Scola's minutes at backup PF/C?

Why can't Landry get the minutes for a struggling Rocket team that Davis gets for an excelling Celtic team?
