For the 2006 election, Missouri required a voter-verifiable paper record.

Montana required a voter-verifiable paper record.

Virginia had machines from 6 different companies and did not require verification... Webb probably really won by 6%. ;)

I think you take the allegations seriously and do things that show not matter what you think happened, it can't happen anymore. Regardless of whether there is actual fraud, if enough people think there is, it is a grave threat to democracy. People must have faith that they will be allowed to vote and that there vote will count.

History will always have an * next to Jr's name when discussing the 2000 election.

    * Lost the popular vote and selected by the Supreme Court.

    get off it already lib-pig!

so what if bush lost the popular vote by a half million. in a field of 100 million votes, thats really not alot of people when you think about it!

and so what if bush only won because the supreme court overruled the florida supreme court, which had previously ordered the recount to continue, and forced the recount to stop?

so what if the fact that they did this makes the supreme court "judicial activists" of the worst kind and bush supporters supposedly hate judicial activism?

and so what if republicans are normally for states rights, but in this case didnt complain when the supreme court interfered in a state matter?
