Texas sucks for workers - and for caring people in general.....if you are against protecting children from guns in school, against fairness in education, and religion being is schools then Texas is for you, politically it is one ****ed up state, of rude, obnoxious overbearing hypocrites.

Amazing that people can support a known Pedophile and pretend to have ethics....

Pedophiles, and fake christians - what a combo.

It might be hot ..... but at least Texas isn't actually on fire like California. 382,000 acres burned in wildfires.

I have a few friends from that area of NY and I've not heard good things. Mainly, the winters are unbearable with really cold temps and heavy snow. A lot of people end up depressed being trapped indoors for 6 months out of the year.

Aww ****. I went through that before. Sun Belt and Californians are spoiled with a lot of sunshine.

But what if the world boils and we live in a madmax scenario?

It doesn't make sense to me that a complaint of Tech workers would be "lack of reliable public transportation." Tech workers are well paid, they have no need to save money so they can use public transportation. We moved to Seattle because my wife works in Tech, she even gets a free pass to take public transportation through her job but still doesn't use it. There is a nice light rail and bus system but with that comes longer commute times, and more importantly, you risk your safety riding with all the unpredictable drug users off the streets.

    Heat causes depression.

Californians have never experienced Texas heat, of course, they are depressed. Send them to the therapist.

Was in Seattle last week with a few of my tech clients. There were quite a few people I met that moved from Cali a few years back and now made their way up to Seattle.

More than anything these people just follow the jobs and areas of innovation. I don’t foresee Texas continuing to expand in the tech/saas market.

I’ve been in Chicago for a few weeks now, and the summer weather is just so much nicer…u won’t find me here in the winter tho

I keep getting TX heat advisory warnings on my phone

TX summers become more and more trash as the years go by…I hate walking my dogs in the summer, and Lord have mercy if it rains…the mosquitos will be out in full force waging war

With all the money my neighbor saved from leaving Cali for Texas , she can afford working remotely in Italy in the summer

who wants to pay state taxes when the state doesn’t do anything
