The title of Wright's position was SPIRITUAL advisor. He had no political say at all.

20 years in the pews says little to nothing of political views, only spiritual ones.

Even Wright says he's never heard Obama repeat his political ideas.

You don't have much knowledge of what goes on inside of a church. You can't fully separate the spiritual from the political messages. Even a cursory search of youtube should tell you that Wright can't help running his mouth about politics during his sermons.

....and did ya hear what Michelle Obama said about not being proud to be an American? Where on Earth did she get that idea from? Hmmm....maybe Reverend Wright.....or perhaps her hubby? Probably both.

I was surprised to read this week that Rev. Wright gave up his deferment in 1961, joined The Marines, became a Corpsman, then a pulmonary specialist, served on the White House medical team for Lyndon Johnson and received three White house commendations.

While Bush, Cheney, Clinton and I weaseled our way out of the draft.

but he doesn't where a flag lapel pin, so he hates america

edit: people talk about media bias towards minorities but this is a true case of media irresponsibility. they have reported this story as if this is all rev wright preaches, not even giving the context of the particular sermon, not to mention his entire career as a minister. not to mention the fact that he has a stellar military career, all voluntary. its ridiculous

A true patriot wears a lapel pin along with "Support the Troops" sticker on their car right next to their Calvin pissing sticker of their choice.

Bush and Cheney are not running in the 2008 election. John McCain, a true American patriot, is. And don't forget that McCain was being tortured by Charlie while Obama was studying in a Muslim school in Indonesia

I watched a good bit of the Rev. Wright's press conference this morning and I have to say he came across as very reasonable in some extreme positions. He was a tad theatrical but very credible. I haven't seen anything but YouTube highlights but it seems to be much ado about nothing.

His constant retort was "Did you hear the sermon?" or "Did you read the book?" intimating that the soundbites are not representative of his fully-developed message.

How can BT and TJ keep insinuating that Wright hates America when the guy has made the ultimate sacrifice to his country. Make's me wonder if BT and TJ truly supports the troops and or our veterans. Or do they only support them when its convenient for their agenda? You can denounce his questionable comments all day long, but to say he "HATES AMERICA" is just wrong. Do you guys have any shame?

Tim McVeigh was in the military, also. Did he hate America?

Obama is the one who only supports people when its convenient for his agenda. See Revered Wright as a great example.

When somebody says, "God D*** America", I tend to think that they hate America. Sorry.

And for the record, Tim McVeigh killed innocent people. Rev. Wright expressed a personal opinion. I think even you would have to agree that's a big difference. Apples - Oranges...

If Wright preached it then ya boy Bush played it, Big Plexxx. You have no credibility to any statements you make. You're just a comical entity people love to snicker during their daily breaks in work. I must say reading your banter is about as amusing as the Sunday comics but just as relevant to real world situations. Oh and your buddy Hater Jorge is a standup guy also :p

If this Wright idiot really wanted to support Obama, he would keep his mouth shut and lay low.

The whole "GD America" thing offends me more on religious grounds than it does on political-- especially coming from a man of the cloth. Of course, it is interesting to note that this kind of thinking got Jerry Falwell a heap of bad publicity.
