I'm still waiting until it becomes official to freak out, but if the deal goes down as rumored, this is actually a half-decent idea.

I was so excited about today, i canceled plans to sit and watch the rockets pick, and i didnt think we could get Gay and as soon as we get him, we trade him. JVG IS Gay. I cant wait to see Battier give us 17 minutes, 6 pts and 1 reb next season. Im sure its gonna be alot more fun than watching an athletic young player run the floor alongside Tmac. IT BETTER BE!

He did. CD is leaving. There were quite some bad picks and signing made under CD.

They said it's hard to trade up. They said they most likely won't trade down. But you never knew that they traded the pick away. I guess CD realize that he can never make a good pick unless he had the No. 1 pick. So he gave away the pick for some safe commodity.

IMO...They weren't selling a lot of tickets anyways so your boycott won't matter much. They really made a good move. The draft hits a low every once in a while and sometimes it includes back to back years. This year is year number 2. Next year guys like Oden, Noah, Durant and Yi are all going to be studs in the draft. Honestly outside of 3 or 4 players I don't see anyone making immediate impact this season. Gay is not really committed to his craft and I believe Rox mgmt are still snakebit from the EdGriff deal. It was the same knock on EG and that's why I believe the Rox made this deal.

Lets see what happens once the everything is set in stone. But if this crappy trade does happen, I am with you. I will not buy a single ticket of the rockets.

I don't live in Houston, but screw this crap. I'm not even buying league pass anymore. No need to come home and watch this joke of a team limp on to another first round defeat. And with Battier on the team, it'll surely be a sweep. I was anticipating this day so much.

I honestly feel like crying right now.

Man I love this trade actually.

I think Battier is a great a role player which will help the Rockets a lot. This guy is very durable, playing almost 82 games every season. I don't know why so much hate is going towards this trade. All Rudy Gay is potential, and 7 other teams obviously believed it wasn't worth it.

    I like this trade.

but Jerry West who is an infinitely better talent evaluator that anyone on the Rockets and those 7 teams thought he was worth it. Why should I care that Billy Knight and Kevin Mchale, etc. didn't think he was worth it? They are grade A fools.

I'm only double posting because the edit link is gone.

Everything Rudy Gay was criticized for had to do with him not being a true #1 option, about deferring to others, etc. Like any of that would be a problem with the Rockets where he would be a 3rd option at best. Battier's defense is overrated, who has he ever shut down? Gay could come in and be his equal his rookie year, in every dept. Gay's potential only comes into play when you are talking about future all-star, etc, but he will come into the league at Battier's mediocre level.

As long as Van Gundy is on the team. They will not get my monetary support. I will still watch their games. But will purchase no tickets or merchandise until he is gone.
