This is what I said in the "Rockets have acquired Harden" thread. What a non-commital POS I am. Also, looking back through my GARM posts, it's interesting to see how my opinion changes on McHale: from being anti-McHale last season (initially it was just anti-notkeepingAdelman, but eventually became anti-McHale) to being pro-McHale sometime around November of this season. And I really do feel like he has improved a lot as a coach and that this team has become better for having him.
I claimed we would and if we play the nuggets in the playoffs we have a strong chance of winning. Both times I have been scoffed at, lets hope the latter comes true as well.
I already knew from the Get Go my Damn Rockets were gonna get in the Playoffs with the Omer signing and Harden max deal. To damn easy man, Lot of fools underestimated this team from the get go..
I thought we'd be a bottom-feeder because well...I never knew Harden was as good as he is. I thought he was a 20-3-3 player. Boy was I wrong.
Honestly, I had no idea what we would do! The Rockets were probably the biggest mystery in the NBA coming in to the season...
when you believe in a team it doesn't matter what the odds are and as a fan you never bet against your team or doubt the possibilities I knew the rockets would make it.
I have a friend that bet me they wouldn't win 25 games. I said 30 or more. We went double or nothing if they make the playoffs. I'm trying to go double or nothing on the first round but he has become a believer in this young team so I can't get any more of his money.
Considering the teams play without harden, I think we make the playoffs even without him. We'd win more games against the bad teams and win less against the good ones. Better with harden, obviously.
I have $2,000 on Rockets over 30.5 the night we traded for Harden. Robbie380 also owes the tipjar $200 on our bet of over 40.5 games. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=7273523&postcount=153
Before the Harden trade I honestly thought we would end up with a lottery pick again. The day we landed Harden I automatically assumed we where going straight to the playoffs. I just looked at it as we've had a winning record and been barley missing the playoffs with a bunch of mediocre to good players and after watching Harden carry OKC through the western conference playoffs and destroying San Antonio and putting up big time performances when it matters most, he was already a super star in my opinion and that would be enough to take the Rockets into the playoffs. But I will say I never saw Asik coming... That dude is a beast on the boards.
even without harden i knew this team will make the playoffs once i saw the style of play during the preseason. Props to mchale and his staff for preparing for the season well
Beating a downward spiraling Clippers team when they where on the backend of a 4 games in 5 days road trip and beating Orlando's backups to the backups isn't enough to go on at all. If Harden was out for an extended amount of time then a better case can be made because weird things can happen in an 82 game regular season. Washington has beaten the top teams in the NBA but yet they are a top 10 lottery team...
