Rev. Wright back in the news again..in Sex Scandal

IN other news, can the NY Post just give Jeremiah Wright his own daily column by now and save themselves the trouble?

 

Don't act so damn surprised. You knew exactly what kind of reaction you were going to get, Trai...I mean ROCKET RICH.

 

Tabloid...yes...but I found this interesting. The most shocking part to me is the reaction of the guy whose wife cheated on him. Sounds like he doesn't care that much about having been cheated on by his wife, but it's more of a problem to him that it was with a black man. Sad state of affairs...his statement is clearly racist.

 

Post away about Wright. The problem is I'm not sure why the public (BBS included) should care about the misadventures of Wright himself, except as it reflects on Obama. The implication of publishing the article (by the NYPost) and by pasting it here (by you) is that this does have something to do with Obama. But, you haven't established any causal link between Wright's infidelity and Obama's fitness for the presidency.

I haven't thought it very fair for people to draw all sorts of conclusions about Palin from her daughter's pregnancy. But, at least they can appeal to the argument that Palin had some role and responsibility in raising that girl to become who she is, and in monitoring her behavior. Obama's relationship with Wright is more distant, and the power flow is reversed, so in no way is Obama responsible for Wright's actions as Palin may be for her daughter's. You might try to argue that it reveals Wright's character, which may have impacted Obama's in the past. However, I'm confident that infidelity is an aspect of Wright's life that he probably did not share with his congregation; and, in fact, Wright himself probably thinks it is wrong. So, I don't see how this aspect of his life could trickle down into Obama.

All that's left is a vague guilt by association, which seems to be the only trick in the RNC bag. That's the only thing the article achieves, and it's only merit is obviously rhetorical since Wright without Obama is not of any interest to the public
