Anything to change our soul-crushingly boring logo. Go back to the Championship-years logo. It's the Houston equivalent to the Lakers, Knicks and Pistons logos, IMO.
I've begged for so long for the Rockets to change identity. For me, it's simple. Go classic, but still sleek and sexy. My favorite jerseys in the league and the ones with the most potential to take ideas from are the Boston Celtics St. Pattys Day jerseys. Flawless. That gold with white trim and a darker red would be AMAZING. Just look at that. The material used to make the gold shine with a red mesh jersey. Wow. I would prefer this classic cut, but we could make it more modern with a vneck. Think of the 71/72 Rockets jerseys that T-Mac and Yao rocked that one year, but with this shiny gold and a bit darker red. For the shorts, the celtics use the same gold outlined by white in a small stripe on the side/gold waistband/and gold with white trim legs. Our 71/72 shorts had the same except large yellow stripes on the side. Thin out the stripe just a bit so you can have that gold shining and looking sexy, but not too much as it becomes distracting. Update the text/numbers used just a bit to look more modern, but not too much. The home will use the same gold text and numbers, but with red outlines just as the 71/72 home jerseys(except in yellow). Few years down the road: All gold alternate jersey much like the Kings, but better with more modern material and cuts. I'll take a stab a photoshop as soon as i get time and i hope someone else tries. Also now is the perfect time as Morey is a celtics guy and i'm sure he would love this new look.
Please. Make. This. Happen. How many people have to loudly yell that the current uni's suck and SOME RENDITION OF THE CHAMPIONSHIP JERSEYS is what they prefer before the Rocket's front office gets wind of it and makes some changes? Uni's are a big deal, they need to grow up a little there.
X 1000. Fantastic work whoever designed these. They need to be submitted to the Rockets along with Coto's updated version of the current colors with silver and red.
