This was an epic post from Doc a few minutes ago that I thought deserved its own thread...particularly his last sentence. Mods, please lock this if it's overkill.

Jeff Van Gundy has been connected to a job openings in LA and Brooklyn recently
Asik and Lin are expendable, why not the coach as well?

    Thoughts?

Maybe it's John Lucas? He is a Houstonian, has a good relationship with NBA players, and is known for doing coke.

I find the whole "meeting" nugget at the end the most interesting.

Is CP3 going to the meeting tonight???

Jeff Van Gundy being the special guest at dinner would be hilarious. Especially if he slaps his chair down right next to Kevin McHale.

Doesn't Jeff Van Gundy often (more or less) take shots at Dwight Howard on TV (for not having post moves, having too high a turnover rate, and saying that he didn't know how good he had it in Orlando)?

I said all of last year, after the Kobe "be my Tyson Chandler, Dwight" recruiting call to Dwight, that Dwight wasn't a Kobe fan. And even with the Twitter "fake fight" picture, all of that, I never thought that relationship was going to work.

Kobe, if you help us land Dwight, that would be awesome.

JVG = diet coke and paper in hand. He was always drinking diet coke and he always had paper in hand while coaching.

That said, doubt it means JVG is back as a defensive assistant. He was not a fan of what D12 did to his brother in Orlando. Still...crazier things have happened.

I'm sure JVG loves that Dwight got his brother fired.

Is it possible that Doc Rocket is revealing himself as Jeff Van Gundy?

So according to Doc, Dwight was coming to Houston since last year's draft?

He knew he wanted to play with Lin, Asik, Parsons and a bunch of other nobodies?

This after it was reported he wouldn't re-sign with the Rockets if dealt here last trade deadline?

    Wait what?

Which seems to imply that JVG thinks Howard can do better than what he was doing in LA last season. That Howard was kind of dogging it.

Would be great news if we truly are getting Howard.

This. Good riddance that fool is gone if he did indeed retire.

Also, why in the hell would there be a coaching change when McHale is part of the meeting with Dwight?

    Lol
