Retiring in Another Country

    I didn't mean no assets I meant nothing as in no "in"

    Most people trying to live in the USA either go to school here first or get a temporary job or a job offer here first.

    If Ottoman is correct though that seems like the best route to take.

    The land/housing is very expensive and they have to import most of their potable water. Besides, there is no sense in leaving Texas for any other state or U.S. territory. It's very beautiful there, though.

    Mexico, Belize, Costa Rica -- all of the Central American countries -- have differing monthly income minimums, generally at least $1500 per month. It's not a difficult requirement. Health care and gigantic insects ;) are the greater worries.

    I would worry more about hurricanes and the policia.
