Businesses should not be given leverage because there is a population surplus. That's the reason working conditions are so horrible in third-world countries.
Have you ever read about the work conditions at the turn of the previous century? 18 hour days Child Labor Losing hands and appendages in accidents and then fired cause you cannot do the job. Is this the same? No Is this a step back in that direction? Yep Here is what I never understood . . . what have owners done to garner this idea that they will be all fair and humane about things when you place all the power in the hands of owners they will use it . . completely to their advantage If Owners can get away with out paying overtime. . . THEY DO IT If they can cut corners on safety and save some dollars. . . THEY DO IT If they can pay below minimum wage . . . THEY DO IT If they can ***** over the workers for extra $ . . . THEY DO IT Now all but most Give them an inch . . they will take a yard It is amazing how many workers have sooo much TRUST in owners to DO RIGHT BY THEM Rocket River
In 1939, President Franklin D. Roosevelt moved Thanksgiving one week earlier than normal, believing that doing so would help bolster retail sales during one of the final years of the Great Depression. This led to much upheaval and protest, causing some to deride the holiday as Franksgiving. The name is supposed to have been originally coined by President Roosevelt's good friend Ross M. Brown. Thanksgiving takes place on the fourth Thursday of November. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franksgiving
I'm usually right with you on most things but you have got to get real. Them having to work early hours the day after a holiday has NOTHING in common with the condition of workers in third world countries. This isn't a step towards it, this isn't an inch towards it.
