Nice that you finally noticed they exist! A lot of those are progressive Democrats, I'd like to point out, not what I would describe as conservative, but some certainly are. We have a big tent. The country has figured it out. Keep D&D Civil.
Cardin is crushing Steele in Prince George's County (74-25%) by almost 40,000 with only 50% reporting. Montgomery County is going to Cardin 68-31% with only 25% reporting. The only big county going for Steele in a semi-big way (53-45%) is Anne Arundel with about 60% left. Keep hope alive though basso.
We're doing better than I expected in the House. I'm still thinking it'll be a split Senate, but we could pull out a 6th win. Keep D&D Civil.
I don't blame basso for having some hope in Maryland. Won't do him any good, because Cardin is going to win. Cardin didn't impress me, though. Steele has a future in the GOP. He lost this time, but I think he'll make some noise someday. Keep D&D Civil.
Allen up by <7,000 with 97% reporting. Does not include the 30,000+ absentee ballots in DC suburbs. 11-12,000 is target for automatic recount.
Maybe he can get his last name hyphenated to "Steele-Democrat" so his bumperstickers don't seem like dirty tricks next time.
As an aside, I'd love to be a fly on the wall as Rove tries to explain to Bush how the House of Representatives works.
Politics is a rough game. I wouldn't vote for Steele, but he is a heck of a speaker. The ability to make a good speech, and project even an ounce of charisma, is a lost art in politics. Agree or disagree with the man, at least he could make an impression. Keep D&D Civil.
"Mr. President, the House of Representatives makes proposals which are called bills and if they reach aggreement with the senate they become laws..and...laws, sir? The rules which govern our country? Um, sir? Do you want some more peanut butter?"
